He done what he had to do at Norwich, to try and avoid the drop. He never played that style at Newcastle or Birmingham and I would presume he would be briefed on what we had to endure last season and he has about 8 playing vacancies to fill. So no excuse from day one for playing style. With his background he should have quite an attacking mind set, I would have thought.

Very surprised at the luke warm reaction from so many on here regarding Hughton's potential appointment.

Brighton are a decent Championship team. No more than that. Hughton's has been successful in terms of promotion from the Championship and consolidation in the Prem. This would be a great appointment in my opinion, as good a manager as Brighton could hope to acquire.

He was 5 games from being relegated with the top 4 to play. I wouldn't say that's consolidation.

Anyway it's not going to happen. Remember this? http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?285301-JOHN-GUIDETTI-on-loan-from-Man-City&highlight=

I just don't want to be bored to death again next season.

Would make sense on quite a few levels, if true. Very good track record in the Championship and has got promoted team established in the PL. While I can understand why some people may be underwhelmed, he may be exactly what we need to make that next step up from where we are today. He always comes across well and doesn't seem to have an inflated ego. Overall I would be quite happy if this happens.

You obviously don't spend much time on this board. If he hasn't had a connection with either Barcelona or Real Madrid, or can't speak Spanish or has managed in this division before and has ever been sacked from anywhere, then he must be shite.

Didn't he spend over £20m in a season that culminated in relegation? Tony must be feeling flushed

I regularly speak to a Norwich fan who was delighted Houghton had been sacked even if the job did go to a rookie. The football was the worst this Norwich fan had seen since the season they got relegated to Division Three and Lambert took over and revitalised them.

Having spent four years working on a particular style, are we now going to bin it for a manager who has only had success when he has had plenty of money which we have been so reluctant to spend in the last season? I think it unlikely tbh.
