My category 5 pick has not just finished the top goalscorer in a top flight, but actually holds the record for most goals in a single Ukrainian Premier League season.

At the age of 25 he has won SEVEN league titles in two countries. 107 goals in 277 games is a brilliant record, especially for a midfielder.

It is Henrikh Mkhitaryan

As it stands I'm leaning towards a 4-2-3-1 with wing backs who will push up to allow my wide midfielders a free role. (YES, I AM TAKING THIS A BIT TOO SERIOUSLY, WANNA MAKE SOMETHING OF IT?)

Keeper
Piszczek - Silva - CB - LB
CDM - CDM
Hazard - Rakitic - Mkhitaryan
Drogba

As it stands:
Piszczek - Two league titles.
Silva - Played in 4 countires
Hazard - Played v Brighton
Rakitic - Never played at a world cup.
Mkhitaryan - Top scorer in a top flight.
Drogba - Over 31
I don't like you anymore!!!

He was my banker for this round!!!

Time to pick a player who's faced Brighton. Not the most glamorous of picks, probably; but will form a rock solid central defensive partnership with my popular captain. I think he's genuinely underrated, and has played a key role in some of the best defensive team performances I've seen over the past few years. This is him at Falmer, although you'll probably have to take my word for that. My sixth round pick is Gary Cahill.

Well I really can't turn down the opportunity at having this player in my team. He is the King of the assist and one of he best playmakers in the world. This player has been unfortunate this season with injury but his record speaks for itself. He has provided 148 ASSISTS IN THE PAST 6 YEARS (thats almost 25 per year consistently). He is a kingpin in a fantastic German team and will thrive for Arsenal in years to come. Hard to believe that Real Madrid sold the guy. He is of course:
MESUT ÖZIL.
Garry Nelson's Left Foot You are next!

It's a phrase that's becoming something of a cliche already on this thread but....I am delighted my next pick has managed to slip this far down the draft. He's been arguably the best player in the world in his position over the past decade or more, a model of consistency rarely if ever turning in a below par performance. He's won everything it's possible to win in the domestic game- two league titles, seven fa cups, the league cup, the europa league and the champions league. He's also had a go or two on Cheryl Tweedy.

He fits into a number of categories- two titles with different teams, 200 or more games with the same club, 70 or more international caps, a champions league semi final, he's over 30 and most importantly for now he has played against Brighton. He is, of course:

Ashley Cole

Ok, before I potentially get something wrong I have a quick question for Rohana regarding category 7. Does the player have to have appeared for the club during the season they were relegated, or just be signed to them at the time (so, a youth player or long-term injury for example)?

(sorry...)

As long as he had a squad number and was there when they went down he's fair game.

Edit: Go with what JOLovergrove said, and say anybody with one first team appearance that season counts.
