Hmm. Yes, we know - this will all end in tears. And I will personally not be bucket rattling or moaning if it does - just quietly watch my team in the Wessex league....

Not bitter but a genuine question. Are you just ignoring FFP as given the crowds you get, it seems hard to believe that you can afford to spend this on Mason and the money you spent on Rantie and compete with us (and apparently offer more) to Grabban with just over a third of the crowds we get.

Honestly wish I knew enough to answer that. I wouldn't have thought we would be able to offer that, but I'm sure Forest et al will be well aware of the offer....

I agree pal, he made us both look like mugs tbf. But I just don't think they've realised it. Grabban now looks like the good guy as he's 'stayed loyal' whereas what he's actually done is milk them for more money

Fair enough. I was genuinely interested. You wouldn't be the only club in this league to ignore FFP so if you have owners rich enough to pay any fines and cover the costs, then fair play. Will be interesting to see whether we, and others, react with bids of our own.

Its a fair point and I have no idea... All I know is that Eddie Howe is not one for 'going against regulations' and he spoke to day, after the game, about the fact that even offering Grabbs a better deal, they re keeping inside of the structure set up, as FFP would not allow them to do anything else...

So no idea what will happen come the end of the season...

Sorry Bmuff, but any play that signs for you over another Championship club except Yeovil seriously lacks ambition

Fair enough. Could be an interesting last couple of weeks of the transfer window.

It would seem like someone's bending the truth, or in fact the rules then.

A £2.5m forward, another on what would surely be a fairly decent new contract (given it was obviously better than our offer), and another £1.5 million bid for a third striker, all on crowds of 8k.

Shame, as like you say Bournemouth are a decent club, and it seems it'll only end one way (unless you manage promotion sooner rather than later). I'd quite like us to be throwing money about in a way, but at the same time i'm extremely glad we've got a chairman who seems intent on sticking to the rules.

Well we'll see what happens - if other clubs go in for Mason, then I don't expect him to sign for us, tbh. But nothing wrong in trying I suppose.

You go for it mate, would rather you boys get a good team than some of the other teams in this division
