Rohan Dennis crashed at the Aussie Nationals I see.

Reason for crash? - picked up by a mini tornado and thrown off his bike

I can't say we ever call them tornados :lolol:

Would see them start up in the middle of dusty paddocks when holidaying up at my grandparents place. You'd see a small swirl of dust about a foot high and think nothing of it then you'd see the wind start to whip up more dust and the barrel shape would start to appear.

Never looked that dangerous to be honest nor even heard of anyone being harmed by one.

Well I refuse to call it a "whirly-wind". :lolol:

I filmed a mini TORNADO coming in off the sea here in Hastings once. Of course, technically it's a WATER SPOUT, but I know what sounds better

Anyway, did you watch your road race today then? I just saw the last few km here:

Well that was quite interesting. Gerrans was always gonna win that against those two with a team mate as well wasn't he? Thought Cadel would have had a dig at some point, he seemed to just leave it to Porte. If they (Porte and Evans) had taken turns to attack they may have broken it up.

Today is the big day. Fantasy Cycling Launch day!

I will try and get it set up today, though I am at work all day, then Christmas Party tonight (damn hospitality industry).

I will set up a normal league and a purist league, so we can have both options. Again no premium players as this offers an unfair and unreasonable advantage, and paying for what is supposed to be just a bit of fun is ridiculous imo. Of course all this assumes that nothing has changed from last year, if it has I will put it up for discussion on here before we decide what to do.

Great stuff P, that must mean there's a cold snap coming, while watching cyclists collapse from the heat.

I just picked this up from 'radar:-

Seems a bit pointless, when I was riding more I'd just make flapjacks for myself, with loads of nuts and salted butter instead of the usual unsalted. All in there are four twenty minutes waits in that recipe, a batch of flapjacks can be made in half an hour!

Found it. Yes it is me and that tool Tony gibb has the cheek to call me lazy.

Whoops, sorry, I didn't mean to drag up bad memories....although you didn't win!! :lolol:

There was enough familiarity in the photo to think of you, so I just took a punt.
Still bloody amazing for it to be you, once again (and as usual) chapeau.

Bloody hell, this just brings back the humiliation of last year when I suggested some basic advice to IL on cycling.... There he is finishing just behind Sir Brad...

Chapeau IL, your face speaks a thousands words, but mainly "how the hell has he done that..."

So, they are both set up.

Use this link to go to the Leagues page.

Regular League ID is 77324
Purist League ID is 77325

If you want to run a team in both leagues you will need to use two different log ins, as us non premium paupers are only allowed one team each. I will certainly be running a team in each to help make up the numbers.

Can we reply to this post to keep it moving through the thread for the next few weeks, please. That way it will make sure everyone sees it who is likely to join.

Good stuff. I'm in for the purist this time I think - it'll save me having to guess which 3.0 riders I've never heard of are likely to be good on any particular day... I'll just choose the ones that are the best all-rounders. Oh, wait...

You can change the team name whenever you like, can't you? Mine has come up with last years name so you can spend as long as you like trying to come up with something witty.

It's ok I'll get bored of the bouncing 'joke' soon, and be a little more responsible.

I seem to remember changing mine last year.
It's just after my diet bacon baguette and low calorie hot sweet tea, I'm not really in the mood for thinking.

Grilled bacon? That makes it diet in my opinion.

Oh yes grilled, is there any other kind.

Sadly the amount of bacon (it would have gone off if I left it any longer, honest) and canoe-esque fresh baguette means I've just about reached one of my goals.

I now look like my avatar. :vuvu:

All the talk of turbo-ing last week, has nearly got me back in the saddle.
Who knows I might be back in the fold soon.

Or I might just eat another baguette.

Bounce!

I'm in. There are now confusing normal and purist tabs but the latter is only for premium players. I have a feeling the time of free play may be running out!

Tarmac road surfaces would not exist if it wasn't for the motor vehicle , so why do the Lycra louts think they have priority when they make no contribution through taxation to the system?
Would it not be perfectly logical to tax cyclists to fund improvements in their network in the same way motorists are taxed to fund improvements to roads?
