they do accept that, what they don't accept are the rules of engagement which actually benefit the cowards that hide behind children and women. Level playing field, fine, uneven like it, its rubbish.

I think refusing to work until rules of engagement are changed is mutiny.

As for even playing field? Youre kidding?

Handing down sentences for murder in war is a bit like handing out speeding tickets at a drag race.

If the taliban released a video of a wounded, captured British soldier, being casually executed...Im sure that would be the general view

I think it's a bit bloody rich singling out this soldier seeing as the government has sanctioned the murder of innocent civilians ever since aircraft became weaponised.

So, you condone the murder of wounded prisoners of war on the battlefield soulman ..?

What i do condone is the rules of engagement being implemented by people that are not on the front line and against opposition that do not adhere to these rules.
I can only imagine that after being trained to be a Marine, serving on many tours, and seeing his comrades killed and their limbs hung from trees, that the Marine perhaps was metering out his frustrations.
I condone our troops being in Afghanistan and having their hands tied, i wish they were not there.
As you say, it was the "battlefield" not Woolwich, i think the Queensbury Rules go out the window on the "battlefield, for both sides.
Perhaps it is better to leave the Taliban to raping and plundering and murdering their own, whilst any woman has no life.......but then you would not want that either, would you.
Meantime one of these backward murderers has been killed on the "battlefield".

And does that load of waffle mean, that you condone, the execution of wounded, prisoners on the battlefield?
It was a military court, I think his peers know about what goes on, on the battlefield, don't you?

It all depends on which story you have heard and believe, I have heard he was seriously wounded and not survive treatment, so could be classed as a mercy killing like some troops did in Falklands. But nothing was mentioned about that at the time.

It happens on the "battlefield".........on both sides. The rules that are put in by the people that are not on the front line are continuously broken. I wonder if the same punishment is implemented when a British soldier is murdered......on the "battlefield".

On that basis, you don't think there was anything wrong with the holocaust or the Srebrenica Massacre or what went on in Rwanda. Afterall, there was a war going on so anything goes!

We're supposed to be the 'good' guys defeating a brutal regime. Not using that regime's actions as a justification for our own. We have a proud military history, especially the Royal Marines, and you are basically saying they should be behaving the same as a terrorist militia!?

Forgetting all else for a second, he broke a basic code of conduct from his own regiment and an inexcusable breach of discipline. The only argument I can really see in all this is the severity of the sentence.

Probably because they weren't filmed and recorded with helmet cams...

So, a military court got it wrong?

If the Taliban released a video of them executing a wounded, British soldier, then it would be ok in your silly world/ Just one of those things both sides do in battle. Ok mate.

Perhaps read my posts again. Instead of twisting them for your own agenda. Where have i said the "military court got it wrong".......as usual no mention in either post, just in your mind as per.

Nobody is twisting anything. You signed a petition saying he should be released. The military court disagrees with you, so you must think they gave the wrong verdict. What is YOUR agenda?
