Sharp? Becchio? Guidetti? Afobe? Someone none of us have heard of?

You can rule Guidetti and Becchio out. Don't see Sharp coming here myself. Afobe is one of those names that's constantly being suggested and never happens.
Has to be someone who'll compliment Ulloa and Barnes-McCormack, Tomlin, Doyle...Billy Clarke?

Not that I think we are going to get Guidetti or Becchio but why do we rule them out? Have you heard from someone itk?
To be honest I think we have a better chance of those two than the others you have on your list. If we get anyone it will be someone who hasn't been mentioned yet.

Becchio is too similar to Leo. Guidetti is off to Stoke, isn't he?

You're probably right on the second point. It'll probably be completely out of the blue.

If we end up with Billy Clarke I will be most underwhelmed. I rather we didn't sign anyone can't believe we are looking at the calibre of player.

Guidetti to Stoke not yet a done deal, as of now just rumour.

Saido Berahino, scored a hat-trick for West Brom in the League cup, with Anelka back in training he is likely to be 4th in the pecking order. In the England U21 squad.

Or Odemwingie.

Your rationale for ruling out Becchio is that he is too similar to Leo??

Those 2 up top together would be a force, Buckley and Orlandi supplying the bullets

Those two up top wouldn't be mobile enough. There's a reason no teams (other than Stoke) have two big lads together up top.
Plus, Oscar doesn't play two up front so a new signing would spend time warming the bench.

Loads of teams have 2 x 6 ft strikers up top . This isn't 17 th Century Britain where if you are 5 ft 2 you are considered a giant.

You are talking out your hat

I keep saying it, but I hope we investigate Billy Sharp. He's frozen out at Soton, and not currently with anybody on loan. I think he would be affordable too
Agree, we should go after him. He is a northern boy though so may want to return to the frozen tundra of Yorkshire or such like.

Well we've missed out on Samuel Eto'o.

I still want someone we've not heard of, with a workmanlike but flair name!!

Uh huh. Ok then, which teams play with two six foot + strikers upfront together?
Prediction: teams full of cloggers.

And anyway, Barnes (for example) is six foot but mobile. Becchio's never going to be a foil for Ulloa and they'll never be paired up so what's the point? Surely you can't argue with that.

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. No thanks.

I remember seeing him play against us at St Andrews and thought he would be the perfect 'physical striker' for us. Obviously that was before seeing Leo play (he signed for us the day before IIRC)
