Well he's not that highly rated, or his career to date wouldn't have seen him in two extremely unglamorous jobs at Yeovil and Charlton. Luke Williams did well with our development squad and got sacked, so achievements at that level are clearly not worth much to the Albion. And there are millions of people in the world who speak Spanish, and Oscar speaks perfectly good English anyway, so I fail to see how this is relevant. It's Nathan Jones, a job with Charlton's kids and a grasp of Spanish doesn't change the years of evidence that suggests he's an idiot.

I have a feeling we gave him a bit of a cheer at the start and then he went on to give it the bigg'un when they scored...which obviously we remembered the following season. Not 100% on that, but I think that's how it went.

Then of course the following season he play acted to get Anyinsah sent off which endeared him further.......anyway water under the bridge now. I'm sure he'll do well for us.

I liked him with us as a player (saw him out & about in town a little too much though!) and hadn't noticed what he's been doing as a coach until flagged up on here today. Seems like a good move to me - strong club links and recent success as a coach. I think it's important to have someone amongst the coaching staff that knows English football and the fact that he speaks Spanish is a bonus too (OG may well speak fluent English, but if Jones can get a point across to the Spanish players in their own language if required, that's surely helpful?)

Makes me laugh that people idolise Oatway whilst hating Jones. As much as I liked Oatway as a player I'd much rather have Jones at the club in terms of what he can bring to the set-up.
