It would suggest we are planning for the future and we now have decent left back cover.

it would aslo suggest Painter may be on his way.

beat me to it, good news if it happens we cant keep buying old players (as good as they may be!) some youth in the side is always a good thing.

Is no one else concerned this may mean Dr Doom might visit the Amex, and it could accidentally get destroyed if he gets into a fight with the fantastic four...

Brighton have agreed a deal for highly-rated Latvia international Vitalijs Maksimenko

Sky Sports understands Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal for highly-rated Latvia international Vitalijs Maksimenko.

The 22-year-old can play anywhere down the left and has been tracked by a number of Premier League and Championship clubs in recent months.

Gus Poyet has sealed a deal for the player after he impressed during a training spell with the Seagulls late last year.

Brighton have agreed terms with Skonto Riga and hope to finalise the deal within the next 48 hours.

Maksimenko is believed to have already arrived in England, where he will undergo a medical before completing his move to the Amex Stadium.

Anywhere down the left does not suggest left back, it suggests the Latvian Gareth Bale.

He 6'1 so I reckon he'll play mostly centre back.

Despite the article clearly saying he plays "anywhere down the left" and saying nothing whatsoever about him being a centre back?

Looks a tiny bit like a lanky Cristiano Ronaldo!

Transfer value page says he plays left back or left centre back so I can also imagine he's been brought in to cover a couple of positions.
