Neither was I. Educated under the Tories !

No time for this "golden age" of education under the Tories. I was subjected to the first year of GCSEs and who introduced them ?

I would rather have learnt Latin and the Kings and Queens but unfortunately it was all "empathy" with 17th century mud eating peasants. I've got the Tories to thank for that. Cheers Maggie.
No you haven't got maggie to thank, I was educated under a Labour government, and my history O level course was "british economic and social history since the 17th century" boring as f***, and destroyed the love i had for that subject at school.

I didn't particularly like her,but that is a disgrace.I hope she has requested a burial at sea!

Great Idea! Like or loathe she doesn't deserve this. How many of the "Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre" people were actually unemployed because of her actions?

Actually the name is a bit of a contradiction in itself ???

There is no society just the individual.

The biggest shame of her wretched reign - And it's what Thatcherites just don't get. People can be successful, wealthy AND care about people who are less fortunate, the rest of them vote tory....

I wouldn't wear the T-shirt, it's not really my style, but I will enjoy a little drink and dance to Kool and the Gang's Celebration.....

I truly disliked this woman, and rejoiced at the sight of her leaving. My opinion was that she was vile and vindictive, and opportunistic.

I would never buy or wear such a t shirt.

One of the greatest moments of my life was seeing her talk about her experiences when she released the second part of her autobiography, which of course covered the early part of her life.

One of mine was booing her when she came to do a talk at my university.

I will. I live in Sunderland for a year in 87-88. What she did to the North was inexcusable. Not just to mining either, she killed shipbuilding as well.

Shipbuilding surely died due to competition and lack of investment. Yes ,we should still be building ships at a loss and get the government to subsidise us!!! Same with the car industry, coal mining and steel manufacture.

Or were we no longer able to compete with new emerging markets?

Shipbuilding is an interesting point to make. I was out last night and was being told by a friend that most of the new Royal Caribbean super cruise ships are built in Finland which has very very high labour costs. It makes you wonder why we dont start building ships again.

See my post above about Finland. They seem to have a decent shipbuilding industry and all done with high labour costs. If they can do it so can we. And take a look at the recent profits at Audi, Porsche and Mercedes. You make something decent and people will buy it. As a nation we like a bargain/cheap shit/tat and I think we believe the rest of the world is the same. This is not the case.

What exactly have the TUC done for this country? Thatcher dragged us out of the dark ages and 3 day weeks caused by socialists.
She is a saviour. God bless her.

In the 70's and 80's I sat back and watched the attitude of the British public change in a short space of time due to some of Thatchers policies a lot of greed and hatred, good job the war came along for her, and do not forget that her own cabinet threw her out, in my view she was a poor PM ( but then most are)
Unions are essential to represent the views and welfare of the workers and protect them from bosses who only want to exploit. Unions have done so much good over the years for workers. So what did they do, constantly strike, ask for ridiculous demands, communist attitudes and generally do as much damage to the country at the time as Thatcher. Labour were not much better then as they were in their pockets.

The common denominator is egos, the power struggle, the refusal to do whats right and sensible for the good of the country, and to hell with the ordinary person.
And now, 30 and 40 years later, I am still sitting back and watching it continue and the next laughable episode (PMQ) is live on TV tomorrow at 12, and also in Brighton tune in and feel ashamed that these idiots are in control.

That makes two us of us then.

I only hope one of the "scum" knows you think that of them when you need health care from a trade union member. And I do hope you dont need a scumbag member of the FBU if your house is burning down. I suspect you may not reveal quite what you think of them when you need them.

Twat.
