The Assassin can play on the right wing , at Donny he went on a 40 yard mazy run going past 6 players before being barged off the ball just before he got to the penalty box. Gus is playing mind games with Big Sam.

This season,,,Dicker 0 goals, Navarro 1 goal, Bridcutt 0 Goals. Assuin 0 Goals,,,,,against a team that has let in 7 in their last two home games..I just can't believe it and a game we probably must win.....Big Sam must be laughing his cock off..I truely think this team is appalling.

Still, at least we have Buckley available....oh wait!

Did you miss all those years Vicente spent on the left wing for Valencia then?

Vicente down the left, Joaquin down the right, Villa up front...deadly

Vicente down the left, Assulin down the right, Barnes up front....we'll see

No I know that but he's been used for us (very, very effectively) in a central/free position. Why we are "experimenting" with this right now is totally bewildering. It's a completely new set up and .... well I'm in shock!

So, instead of sitting on your computers, whinging all afternoon, if you're not happy. Go and do something else.

It's a fairly bog standard 4-5-1, really nothing new at all.

Goalie, flat back four, defensive/holding midfielder (Bridcutt), two central midfielders (Navarro & Dicker), left winger (Vicente), right winger (Assulin), striker (Barnes)

Assulin looks a quality player to me, have no problem with him starting whatsoever. And although I don't rate Painter one bit have any of you thought he may be in the team for his superior heading ability over Reyes? Worse one for me is Barnes starting up top ahead of CMS.

Given that Kev is clueless, and Kev hates the team selection, I'm suddenly feeling positive.

I dunno, I still reckon you should wait until at least half-time before bitching about the way the team has performed :thumbsup,

The only thing which pleases me about the line up is Barnes is finally being played as a striker.

I do hope all the naysayers have their apologies ready after we win this afternoon. The amount of wallowing on this thread is quite astonishing.

Very interesting choices really interested to see Gia start, if we play anything like at home this should be good.

Best finisher, three good chances and a pen Tuesday night spring to mind.

Cant believe I am agreeing with you but it looks as if Barnes' punishment for his worse game in a while is to start up front on his own ???

I sooo hope that by half time I am worshipping Gus' wonderful team selection but cant see it

I just do not see that Barnes fits the role of a lone striker away to a leading team in the division. Assulin has not played for weeks and then is chosen for ths 'big one'. I think the squad is too big, Gus has too many choices and all we are getting is change and confusion. Gus is feeling the pressure for sure.

Interesting team selection. I don't mind Painter for Reyes at all. Gai Assulin looks like a striker instead of Macca. I would not think this was right match for this change, but what the hell, it might work!? I am disappointed that Will Buckley is not on the bench. I am not a great Dicker fan, but it is only West Ham we are playing not a good team and his workmanlike play may be what we need? Dicker has been creating chances recently. Not converted though as I think his crosses showed him to be a bit match rusty.

Not the team I would have played. I thought Macca would be a definite to stop Noble playing the ball out of defence. I still anticipate Painter long balls gifting West Ham the ball as he has not got an obvious player to pass to if Vicente cuts in from the right.
