As the man says, it'll never happen. Just Gillingham trying to force the hand of the authorities.

Can't remember the exact incident but it dates back to the 70s or 80s I think?

Check out THIS abomination, which apparently is the kit Gillingham will be parading around the arse end of Kent next season. What a horrendous colour scheme...

To be honest we couldn't give a toss about them BUT they see us as their main rivals. Trouble in the 70s and 80s with them, then didn't play them for 20 odd years, went to Priestfield and Swindon took quite a lot of proper nutjobs and went a bit danny dyer on the town. Kent police weren't prepared and it got pretty out of hand. Scally is a twat though, but it looks like it could be our promotion party so we would take 3400 there. Got them worried. Maybe Scally should get his arse in gear and sell some more pegs.

The same happened when Gillingham played Stoke in the FA Cup. Gillingham refused to pay for additional police so they withdrew from the match and that meant that the licensing body could say that nobody is allowed on safety grounds. In the end Gillingham & I believe Stoke paid for the additional police.

This is exactly the same, Swindon could get promoted so a large away following expected and with Gillingham only 4 points off the play offs a "big" crowd expected. At the moment Gillingham have refused to play for extra police so the same thing as the Stoke cup game has happened. The Police consider this a high risk game and therefore say X number of police needed and that will cost the club £x.

I imagine that was what happened when we played Palace. Palace would be given a quote for extra Police for any allocation given to us above the 3k , they decided not to pay that hence our numbers restricted.

I didn't know they had any.

Now if you said boys throwing seats out of double decker buses, then panicking as opposition fans approached, before shouting that famous Larry Grayson catchphrase, "Shut That Door", I would agree.

Does not every supporter pay thier taxes to be protected by the police. Where will this end..ban all protest marches...charge the parish council for the village fate? As far as I was concerened the Police are there as a public servant and not to make or save money!! its a slippery slope!

Great. We now have Swindon and their equally tin pot Oxford brethren talking about their firms on our board.

Extra police officers are needed to be on duty for matches and obviously they need to be paid - why the home club needs to pay. Rather the club paid it that if it was added onto tax.
