Funny I have never had any trouble with the stewards, only the couple of occasions I have spoken to them theu have been helpful and polite.
Easy answer to the catering is if you have that much of a problem with it: don't us it, bring your own drink in.

I find it amazing that anyone would choose to leave a game before the outcome has been decided. Having approachable stewards and decent catering is secondary surely to what you see on the pitch. And the current fayre being served at the Amex is truly wonderful.

1st game with my grandad in 1966 chum.
i wasnt flouncing over the catering alone...its how the club in general seem to view us.
we are mere commodities now.
money, money money.
sign of the times i guess.
football will fuckin eat itself.
no one cares about the fans anymore...all about profit.
AMEX = cash cow

Odd decision to leave. A moral walkout about something you already knew. Other than your season ticket(or match ticket), what money do you feel the club are forcing out of you? The beers a reasonably priced as football stadiums go though. Stewards have have been wankers for years in one guise or another, but i never even notice them other than if there is an incident somewhere to see.

Blimey it's a football match, Yes it's about money and no football match in the world is about providing service to the customer. Dunno what happened but if it was queues, crap food, flat beer or pushy up their arse stewards then that's football ... get a sense of perspective mate

And nobody is forcing you to buy anything. Its much worse at alot of cinemas for instance where you can't take your own food and drink in.

I was quite upset as our nice lady steward was not on duty today in WSU.

She is very courteous and has been known to hold customers lager when they need to pay a visit

Was one of the first in the queue at half time at the Ipswich game. only steak pies and the till only had 10p's in, no pounds, 50p's or 20p's. What were they doing for the entire first half? Same pie issue today. How hard can it be to distribute the pies amongst all the outlets and have change in the tills. Shambles.

Exactly. I always take a half time bite to eat with me to cut costs a little then enjoy pie and a few pints for dinner after. You do not HAVE to spend anything more than your ticket/travel arrangements

She has also been known to hold something else to allow those to drink their larger while paying a visit.

Complete agree, there was a huge man who walked up to his seat with three pies today and then read the obesity article in the program

Arrived in East Stand foyer around 14:30, hardly had to queue at all for my steak pie and soft drink (which at £5 I didn't think was a bad price), and the pie was nice.

I remember the "catering" at The Goldstone, and stewards back in the 70's were no better than the animals they were paid to pen in.
Then again I'm not the biggest fan of this whole ultras/new wave hooliganism thing. Must be getting old that I like the comfort of a padded seat and a cup of coffee (although a HOT pie does go down well).

It's just modern life. We have so much now, but it all comes with the buggery factor. I'm sure it didn't used to be like that when we had nothing and I'm not just talking about football it's everything.
Or am I just a grumpy old man?..............Bastards.

This.
I, like many on NSC hold a Cineworld anytime pass and the catering and staffing in the Cineworld Crawley are without doubt massively overpriced and incompetent respectively. Almost all, if not all, event managent these days is impersonal and profit focussed. However, my experience of the Amex has been largely positive. The prices are acceptable, the food and drink are of a decent standard and I have only ever found the stewards to be polite and friendly. Yes, they need to rack up more beers ready for sale at halftime to speed things along but there is bound to be a few problems in the early stages of an entertainment centre hosting 20K people. I for one am loving my Amex experience.
