Millwall Violence

I had the pleasure of taking my father to last night's match, the first time that he has seen the Albion since Zamora played for us!

Queuing for the train after the game (in the pen between the platform & the ramp), some Millwall fans were singing & shouting anti West Ham songs (really tasteful with the kids around us), to what appeared other Millwall fans in the pen. Then this oik decides to lay in & have a punch up. Old bill rush in & drag him away.

Moments later we are on the platform, train arrives, step in - just about to leave & more Millwall pile in - kicks off again/punch ups in our carriage. Police were quick to it - another few 'fans' dragged off.

What was that all about?

Millwall v Millwall
Millwall v West Ham
Millwall v BHA

As for my 70 year old father........he won't be attending an Albion game I suspect until Zamora returns.

Shame

And this is exactly what I was saying. These away morons are putting people off from going to watch the football.

Maybe you should explain to your father that we don't play Millwall every week?

Sad to say I would be surprised if there wasn't aggravation on the trains/station for games against Millwall and Palace

Personally I would have taken a cab if I was going with a 70 year old, I know I know, you shouldn't have to but you must have had an inkling that it could turn nasty after the game??

I didn't see much action last night as the R bus is the modern day "chicken run" but getting off the train at about 7.40 I had the pleasure of escorting "The Driscoll Brothers" from the station to the ground (anyone seen them on Only Fools And Horses?, ones a really tall ugly fucker, the other's a short arse played by Christopher Ryan, I think) both in crombies and flat caps, the short arsed one, old enough to know better, started a chant of "aids (clap, clap, clap) aids (clap, clap, clap) ..." the other Millwall around thought it was hilairious. The irony was the two in question looked like they 'enjoy the company of other men' more than those they were trying to insult.

i did laugh walking to the ground, when we played palace there were a few Palace lads giving it very large coming over the bridge, looking for a bit of trouble they were skinny pricks with spots and I reckon my mum would have floored them with out breaking a sweat. Last night walking under the underpath, there was about 6-7 Millwall lads giving it large, the differance was they looked like proper thugs, huge fuckers with shaved heads (not at all sterotyping if you happend to have a shaved head)....I dont think a Brighton fan...me included looked at them, didnt want to get eye contact!!

I saw loads of scuffles on the station last night - I luckily managed to meet up with my son whose 17 after the match and we caught the train home together - we got back pretty quick - and were making a cup of tea when his mates turned up at the house - one of the lads - the smallest one had been nutted on the train and was sporting a swollen black eye!!! He's only a slight lad - looks about 14!!! He said he wasn't even doing anything and the guy just laid into him.

He's ok though we sorted him out x

Maybe you/your dad couldn't make another game but as has been said I wouldn't have chosen last night's. Next home game you'll see a difference - sold out away following but, in the main, much nicer set of fans.

People will say "why choose Millwall?" but I for one have some sympathy with you. I took my 10 y/o thinking that we wouldn't see any trouble, and the precaution of using the park and ride and getting out sharpish.

Millwall's following is truly unique if you ask me - far too many utter fucknuts. All clubs have them, but you only have to read the anecdotal evidence on here to see that there are just too many people like that in their ranks. It's not that they are all like that, but their minority of morons is simply far too big.

I suspect a lot of people will be put off if we play them next season, but hopefully we'll be able to halve their allocation. It's tough on their club who seem to want to do an awful lot of things properly, and it's tough on the many Millwall fans who are not responsible for the bellends in their ranks who can't behave properly when they're mobbed up. Football moved on from this sort of shit many years ago. Nowadays, it is usually the case that you'll only find trouble if you go looking for it. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case with Millwall.

Take your dad to any other game. Literally, any other game - even Palace. He'd come away with a totally different perspective.

its out of order, if some wants a fight fair enough but hitting some for no reason, its out of order.

interesting u describe the way the mill wall lot looked...being close to the south stand last night ...and not wishing to stereotype them too much..they did look a bit of a mob....hardly any women...i'm sure in amongst there were som good nuts...but out of all who hav visited so far they looked the meanest lot..maybe its me age :)

When the vast majority of fans have to catch a train to the Amex, why on earth does the club/police allow away fans to queue with home fans (for high risk games).

Going to Millwall away for instance, all away fans are penned (for their own safety I expect).

Last night was I believe the lowest Albion (ex away fans) for a game.
This fixture surely will not attract as many next season?

And an extra 7,500 seats next season!

It seems to me that all clubs fans have been given a chance to behave reasonably. Millwall have surely pissed on their chips. If it was down to me, I'd halve their allocation next season, ask Millwall to sell to STHs only (we could reciprocate if required) and print "you will be held back 30 minutes after the game" on their tickets so that it doesn't come as a surprise. Our club can't afford to be deterring punters like your dad.
