I saw the post & agree it was out of order.

I am not questioning the Victims statement. After all it might of been the police who came to conclusion who was involved & not directly from the victim. Just wondered how accurate the identification list can be

I just think conjecture is an unhealthy and unhelpful line at this moment in time. But, like I said earlier, let's hope for a trickle down of favorable news,

But the Argus stated he was not just arrested but "accused" which is a different story. You can be arrested under suspicion of a crime without a charge ever being brought, which may be what has happened here (maybe not), but to say someone is accused of a crime means they have been charged.

So I would say this headline is very possibly inaccurate.

Wrong........if there is no evidence to suspect that a person has committed an offence (there has to be an accusation) no lawful arrest can be made. Charging is what you do at the end of the investigation.

They were really awful though, they looked like a bunch of misfits playing their first match. They played as if there was a dark cloud over them, passes going astray all night, when passing is supposed to be our game.

If that's the case they must have got wind of it three quarters of the way through the palace game.

No he was arrested.

You know full well that wasn't my issue. If they'd waited a DAY SOMEONE's name wouldn't be forever linked with "sexual assault" as it will be now.

Legally fair enough. Morally utterly disgraceful.

Reporters have nothing to do with headlines. That's the job of the sub-editors - and the Argus subs are now in Southampton .

Quite happy to have her name next to the so called scoop, if the cap fits and all that!

According to the statement issued by Sussex Police the players weren't identified until 13th January.

I wonder why it took so long to identify them. Dunk has hardly been out of headlines on the back of the Argus. The others probably harder to identify (with the exception Elphick) but identify one, could have worked from that?

good news ref's Tommy Elphick, I hope that he and any other player who has no action taken against them sue the Argus big time.

I disagree with this. A person's arrest deprives them of their liberty for questioning and further inquiries because they are suspected of involvement in a crime. I do not know of any cases where witnesses are arrested. Witnesses are questioned without being arrested.
I'm sorry, but I DO know of cases where witnesses WERE arrested.

curious as to why the girls name hasnt been released? or has it and iv missed it? why protect her name but not the footballers?

I believe the law prohibits the naming of the Victim. This is where our legal system falls down

The Innocent are no longer protected once accused. NO ONE should be named until legal proceedings are actually brought & even then they could still be innocent
