Aroma Spice

very nice

they do a set menu for £9.95

I have popadom, onion bargee, pilaw rice, Lamb rogan gosht and Naan bread(swap the desert for a starter) and he will knock some off a Cobra if you say you would rather a beer than a coffee :)

The Rang Mahal,on the 26th floor of the Rembrant Hotel in Bangkok,is in a league of its own.The most delicious and complicated tastes imaginable, and then some.Even the tea served is made from dozens of spices, and not leaves.Just stunning.

Balti Express, Beaconsfield Road. EVERY TIME

My wife and I have ordered a delivery from Balti Express nearly every week for nearly ten years. (Yeah, we're creatures of habit.) We occasionally try other takeaways only to be disappointed by inferior food for extra cost. For your basic British curry menu done really well I don't think they can be beaten in Brighton.

One i like is the Indian Summer on Kingsway.

Sadly the branch of Indian Summer on Kingsway closed a couple of years ago, but Indian Summer on East Street is still going strong. Chilli Pickle (formerly of a tiny site in the Lanes, now a big operation on Jubilee Square) seems to have captured the public imagination as far as authentic Indian dishes go, although I still think that Indian Summer does it better.

Yep this and the shahi tandoori at the bottom of ditchling rise

I live 2 mins away from the Sri India & tried it a few times but just can't get on with it

Another shout here for Sri India, the chicken lababdar is superb!

Another vote here too. Elizabethan tandoori opposite the YMCA in Patcham is also worth a mention.

If anyone ventures into the realms of Lewes, Spice Merchants opposite the old police station is excellent.

My brother used to live on Forth Av so the Indian Summer was close by and we often picked up a tiffin box which made a nice change from the familiar curry house offerings (which I like too I should add). I look forward to sampling the Chilli Pickle (and the Balti Express) next time the opportunity arises.

For me finding the "best" curry house in a town like B&H is much like participating in a minority sport. I remember finding a little gem in Cardiff after the play-off final. It was all turbans, flock wall paper and sitar music. We were the only honkies in the place. Great stuff.

Does anyone know what the Indian takeaway at Fiveways is like? My daughter's just moving in round the corner and it could be a lifeline. There's a sit-in restaurant and a Chinese there too - any recommendations or rejections welcome.

Can't think of the name but the one at five ways that doesn't deliver is really good, has 5 stars on 'scores on the doors'. The one I always use is Balti express, Beaconsfield road, try their baltis, can't go wrong. The Sri india in Hollingbury also good but expensive. Sometimes if going out use that Raj Pavilon on Preston road aswell, really good. The Elizabethan in Patcham good for a meal out also. Don't go to that one in Ladies Mile Road though, really went down hill for some reason

Yeah raj pavilion is really good that's pretty near to the shahi actually (my all time fav).
I keep meaning to try the Elizabethan cottage as it's really local to me & I'm always in the bakery just down the road

Love it ... !!!

No concern for any likely local crime, local services, noise or traffic pollution within your daughters new home in the fiveways area, but need to locate the local curryhouse.

Like your style, a proper Dad ;-)
