No, it wouldn't make any difference at all. He lost the respect when he signed for Palace.

And while I'd give him a dog's abuse if he started milking it in front of the WSL, he probably would have earned the right to celebrate a goal after what he's got coming.

I don't really agree with all this 'not celebrating against your old team' rubbish anyway, the team you play for and is paying your wages gets your total loyalty in my book. If you're talking about respect, it's more disrepectful to your current team-mates if you DON'T celebrate.

Fair points. It's not like he'd been with us for ten years since schoolboy forms admittedly.

I was quite impressed with Dean Cox when he scored against us though.

Murray doesn't support Brighton like us so I sort of understand him not giving a shite about our rivalry with Palarse! Especially in they were willing to pay him a couple more grand a week!
I think it worked out perfectly as CMS is a better player & couldnt give a toss if Murray does score as long as WE WIN :albion2:

Murray scores. Rushes to the North Stand, celebrating wildly, the crowd surge forward. Murray retreats very quickly (a la Dean Hammond). Andy D'Urso then books him for excessive celebrating, trouble is he's already been booked.

He then has to walk off, whilst replacing his shirt. As he leaves the pitch Gus shakes his hand........

That would be quite funny providing we are already a few goals to the good.......

If he scores and does that fuckwit hand on head thing then I'd imagine he will be wearing half the Amex on his head
I can see myself handing back my season ticket, 84 mins in:-

'yep you're right officer, I shouldn't have done it, especially from the family stand. It's a fair cop gov'.

Disagree there. Think there is plenty of room for a bit of respect to your former team mates, club and fans if all went well and no animosity from either party on departure. Much like Dean Cox's celebration when he scored at Withdean.

Fully expecting him to score. Almost certainly the first goal, before we've switched on. Them's the rules of football. In fact will probably back him to do so. Still, Barnes will score two, so that's OK

If he scores a consolation goal fair play. He might win a personal battle, but we'll win the war.

Fair points. It's always good to have a pantomime villain as well; on reflection if he does score it would be ace if he ran the full length of the North Stand doing his hand on head thing. In fact he'd get more respect from me if he did this than simply just raised his arm or something similarly lame. We need a new Scott McGleish.

Five minutes in Murray dives in box penalty given he scores kisses the badge and runs down touchline with his hand behind his ear. Cue cauldron of hate!!

He might have scored some of the goals that got us to the championship, but all this shit we got from the palace fans when he signed for you. I know one of the guys from the removal firm that has helped move stuff from brighton to croydon, murray never wanted to leave the albion, it was more that the club didnt want him anymore.
