In a cave
Three Bridges station is already closed this weekend for continued station devlopment, so this will just add to the problems!

Left Lewes at 8am, arrived At Haywards Heath and waited in Queue for bus to Three Bridges. Gave up after half hour and returned to Lewes. Station staff at HH says its serious damage to the tunnel at Balcombe and they think that there will be serious delays to and from London to The South Coast all weekend. Tonight will be a nightmare for all London based Seagulls. The advice given for that by staff is....LONDON VICTORIA to UCKFIELD, and bus from Uckfield to the Amex.

Brighton and Hove Bus number 29 should go from Uckfield to Falmer

From LDN based people this sounds like the only viable option. Anyone know if there is a cab place near the station in Uckfield? Or who runs the busses so i can check the times out. Got a horrible feeling we'll get there and there will be no transport options to the Amex. Thanks.

If they're reporting bricks on the line, it rather suggests the whole tunnel will need properly surveying and repairing (with the necessary shoring up/scaffolding etc).

I'm no building expert but that doesn't sound like the sort of problem you can fix in a day or two. More like weeks???

The Balcombe tunnel is ancient isn't it?

Pick up the No.28, No.29 or No.29B service which leaves Uckfield bus station and arrive at Falmer about 45 minutes later.

This is one bus every 30 mins, coming from Tunbridge Wells, so there will already be people on it, and if hundreds are trying this route, then you'll have problems. Maybe pre book a taxi ( to the AMEX or lewes station) to be safe?

This is the problem with railways - one problem and the whole network grinds to a halt. I wonder how much longer they're going to argue that there is no business case for re-opening the Lewes-Uckfield line? Given the rise in rail journeys, the rise in population and the fact they admit to raising ticket prices to limit demand it's an argument that looks weaker and weaker every year.

Sad thing is club won't delay kickoff as sky. And travel after game. I know people have known all day but they also have jobs and cant say "sorry boss gtg early today or going to miss the footy.

Can ashford put extra trains on remember hearing something like to do with the state of the line that they can't.

This is gonna be a right pain. If I leave an hour earlier from Clapham Junction I'll still be in the rush hour.

And going home? Gonna try via Brighton, even allowing an extra hour's travel should be able to get back to Clapham Junction before 1am.

Just nobody moan when I leave my seat before the final whistle (I will most likely sit on the stairs around the exit to run when the ref blows)

Feccckkk!! I'm screwed! I won't be able to finish work before 17:00, travel from Canary Wharf to LDN Victoria and then try and get a train down to Brighton, going through Uckfield by the sounds of it!
I might as well sack it off and watch the game on Sky...!! Its going to be as hard to get back to LDN after the game as well!

Just looked at National Rail times from bognor to brighton and even these seem delayed or cancelled as imagine trains all in wrong places so would advise people even from this part of the county to allow plenty of time. No way am i missing this game so will leave bit earlier if not sorted by about 4pm (which looks very unlikely). Have a bad feeling this will seriously effect tonights attendance!

Three hours to go from hassocks to London Bridge today.

Coach from haywarsd Heath to Three Bridges took about half an hour or so. Quite well organised at the TB end. Got the impression that lots of people had stayed at home ( judging by the paces in the car parks).

But you will need to allow an extra hour at least for your trip to the Amex tonight if you are coming from north of Hayward Heath

Could be tricky for those heading west from Brighton on trains tonight......I am assuming that there are no London trains heading south to Hove so that will leave options a little short tonight. From memory there is the 10.03 and 10.33 which run to Chi and that's it - might be a bit snug on the 10.33!

If you delay kick off, you delay the final whistle. What time will people get home then?
