Nothing like trying to re-write football history. I think you'll find that Liverpool first started singing this in the 60's and other clubs, including The Albion, started to use it-mainly in the early 70's.

Allegedly sung at Old Trafford at the first game after the Munich air crash in 1958.

Agreed , this was a song which reached number 1 in the record charts for a scouse band , Gerry and The Pacemakers and was first adopted by The Kop along with several songs from The Beatles in the 1960's.

Just to say that "You'll never walk alone" was not a "Liverpool" song until the late 1980's, everyone used to sing it, even Man United. It was the press love in with the scousers that turned it into a "liverpool" song. Personally I think Celtic's version is much better.

Just to show that I didn't make it up-even Kenneth Wolstenholme refers to it as Liverpool's signature tune and this was in 1965. About 10 seconds in.

To avoid the Sky ad breaks cutting out most of the balloons songs etc for Plymouth and hoping that it gets mentioned, wouldn't green and black armbands if agreed by both teams be more a sign of support? Not even the best editor or commentator could ignore that?

I think Barnesy and Nooney will have "message T-shirts" under their shirts to reveal to the cameras after they score.

This incidentally is the wording on the poster that everyone in the North Stand is being asked to display on Friday - a simple explanation, printed on green paper, to show for the TV cameras.

2,700 sheets of green paper ought to look good. Let's make this work.

Then shout your bollocks* off for the Albion.

* A sexist statement I realise. Please feel free to shout your tits off for the Albion as well/instead.
