Why would the agent be angling for a sell on clause - as that would benefit us? Or are they (the agents) after 20% of any future transfer fee?

The agent is after 20% of any transfer fee by the sound of it. Wants it both ways as he'll grab 20% of Vicente's signing on fee. Another club could wade in with a better package and signing on fee.

If he's a free agent at the moment, what's the purpose of a sell-on clause? Normally the selling club (i.e. Valencia) would receive this 20% - but if he's on a free.....?

The agent wants the sell on clause so he (and possible Vicente if he's going to share it) get 20% of any transfer fee the club get when selling Vicente to another club. I am not sure if this would fall foul of any third party ownership rules though.

Obviously the agent wants 20% when we sell him in the future. To be honest i'd give him that - Vicente could be worth a fortune in the future or he could be worth nowt in any case i'd rather give an agent 20% than lose out on him all together.
