Me

Blackburn Rovers- November 1991

Arrived in Blackburn late and only had an hour at the East Lancs Beer Festival.

No cider

Only rubbish ale that tasted horrible.

Started raining

Terrible stewerds.

Lost 1-0

Got throbbing headache.

Train delayed

Took 5 hours to get from Preston to Victoria

Had to move to smoking coach to escape idiot Albion fans smashing up another. Police board train.

Feeling terribly unwell by now and forced to endure taxi in pouring rain from Euston with drunken twats all the way to Brighton

Home at 2 a.m to throw up

But I bet someone can top that !!!

Gillingham away.1976.
My parents said I couldn't go and sent me to my room.I climbed out of the window and went anyway.
We were tightly escorted from the station to the ground by the Kent Plod.
As we passed a pub it kicked off and a pool ball flew through the pub window and smacked me in the chest. As I bent down and picked it up a copper grabbed me and immediately said "You're nicked matey boy." Or something similar.Despite my protestations, and showing him the bruise,he nicked me for having an offensive weapon.I was taken to a police station that had been closed down for years and was only used on football days and locked in a cell with three Gillingham fans. They were all tossers an I owned them in about five minutes.
I got taken to Rainham Police Station and because I was still a minor,my parents had to drive up from Brighton to pick me up.
What a drive home!!!!
Never saw the game, and have hated Gillingham ever since.

Top three for me is v Norwich in Mickey
Mouse cup in 1990 when we got hammered 5 or 6 nil, then going to Oldham in 91 and watching us getting hammered 6-1 on a crappy plastic pitch and having to listen to some shite calling me gayboy for the 90 minutes and then the worst is the play off final in the same season v Notts County

I was at the Oldham game. December 1990. I travelled up to Newcastle the following Friday night only to discover the game had been cancelled at 8 the following morning.
However, two weeks later we played at Port Vale and that was right on Christmas. Mike Small 1-0 win-great day. That was such an eventful month!

Huddersfield last season is definitely up there. Was a load of road works, got there just as the teams came out lost 7-1.

The 5-0 at Palace was the worst. Apart from that a Tuesday night trip to Burnley on the supporters club coach, spent hours getting around Birmingham and moaning about why the driver chose to go M6 and not M1. No time to get any food on route from the services. Got there with about 20 minutes gone - copper gets on the bus to tell us we are already 2-0 down, no food left in the ground, lost 3-0 in the end.

My dad always reckons it was a heavy defeat down at Pompey which I didn't go to but they proceeded to play the radio commentary of the Pompey goals back over the PA to the Albion fans who were locked in for ages after the game.

That may have been the 5-1 defeat in 1984. They scored 5 goals in 15 minutes after we went 1-0 up. It was raining and we were in the open end.

That was a particularly shit day, you forgot to mention that it pissed down all match, and the police then abandoned us to the locals after locking us in and they went back to the station in a van whilst we took a sever shoeing.
