It's pretty obvious the rivalry won't be AS intense (apart from word of mouth) for younger Palace fans, we've only played each other a couple of times in 15 years. Imagine how different it would have been if we HAD been in the same division for the same period.

That's not to say it has died, or won't very quickly reignite with some help from the 'oldies' given some more regular fixtures (as we saw with the games in the Championship).

This is his CV which is pretty impressive - for a Palace fan anyway.

Yes impressive but considering the other Palace fans have caravan parking, clothes peg selling and daydreaming for CVs it didn't take a lot for him to excel.

Why do Scum fans post on here? Posting on a Palarse forum has never crossed my mind!

Well there are a few of them on here and I would imagine they come to find out what real football is about. They start off with the aggressive "gay" jibes and then grow to love us, hardly surprising really.

Anyone who thinks there is no rivalry anymore, obviously didn't go to the last game we played at selhurst.
You could smell the hatred.
That's why we need to get promoted, at last after all these years we'll be back at the same level as our RIVALS, f*** orient and all those other two bob clubs, it's Palace i hate and I for one can't f***ing wait to be playing them regulary again.

There is NO other game where the atmosphere is as intense as a game against Palace imo, that includes the games we've played against Man U and Liverpool imo. Let fans tell you they don't feel it but they probably haven't attended one of the few games we've played against them. There is no doubt the dislike and fear of losing is the real thing

You're still talking shit. Brighton consider Palace their main rivals, whilst Palace consider Brighton their main rivals. Just because you don't fancy it any more doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. Palace fans don't claim Brighton are desperate to be their rivals. They just are their rivals.

What's Millwall being the biggest game of our season got to do with anything in terms of you not being our rivals any more? We're not in your division, in case you hadn't noticed... If we were playing you next season, then that'd be the biggest game. No question about it.

Oddly I despise QPR fans more than Palarse, I've never met one of their handful of fans who wasn't a complete tosser.

Yeah, on a one to one conversation level, I hate fans of many clubs more than Brighton. Whenever I come across a Brighton fan, it usually ends up with a fairly lighthearted chat with a lot of winding up, a realistic conversation about the two teams' prospects and then a bit more winding up, but rarely actually spiteful. Moan Utd fans however... Especially the non Manchester ones (99%), you just come out of it thinking the guy's an utter bellend and can't have even the simplest conversation about football with them.

I take the Palace Brighton rivalry ridiculously seriously, but the place for it's on the pitch, in the stands and on train station platforms. Not generally being a cock to every other fan you meet.

I see the "we battered the Palace every time we saw them... One time me, Bill and his Golden Retriever took over the whole Palace end" bollocks is already starting to sprout, predictably.

Im talking about the FA Cup match at Stamford Bridge, and there wasnt a lot of battering going on, because the Palarse fans couldnt be caught. I know Palarse fans may find that embarrassing, and ive often seen them try to deny it, but its not like there were no effing witnesses.

I also remember one year when Brighton fans for weeks before a match at Selhurst were told. Palace end. No scarves.
When Brighton came on the pitch. The large number of Brighton fans in the Palace end started cheering and the Palace fans ran away onto the pitch and the game was held up for quite a while. Only a full Selhurst amount of witnesses for that as well.

Nowadays, I think absence of meetings has diluted the hatred. I chat to Palarse fans in a more lighthearted way about the rivalry nowadays as most do.

f***ing hell mate I have read some shit but that little ditty takes the prize as well and truly complete bullshit.Your fans came in our end once in the 70's and they were the ones who ran on the pitch. As for stamford bridge the amount of palace waiting for your lot at earls court did not seem to be running.Take a breath and grow up.

No need for me to grow mate sonny.
I was in the Palarse end that day, and Palarse ran, Brighton laughed.
They also ran at Chelsea.
Like I said. You all seem desperate to deny it.

Its unlikely ever to be the same again. Like I said. Lack of meetings has diluted the hatred to the extent that its mostly just a laugh to most of us. However, shallow ego's in South London seem to want to forget the embarrassment and re-write history for some reason.

Yes, the fact people tell you you're talking bollocks is obviously because they're embarrassed about it. Nothing to do with it being utter horse shit

People?
ONE Palarse fan on here is people?

Ive seen these occassions mentioned before and seen Palarse deny it, haha, get over it. It happened. Live with it.
Im sure Palarse fans had their moments with Brighton supporters, but those two occassions, for real, you didnt.

You're the one claiming Palace fans try to deny it. That's who I referred to as people.

Each set of fans have had their moments, but it's never been ridiculously one sided. Any person on either side who seriously claims that Palace have always sent Brighton on their way or Brighton have always sent Palace on their way is an idiot. It's always been 50/50 overall, despite minor victories in a few skirmishes for each side.

f***ing hell

Perhaps you want to ask some of your chums what happened outside Brighton station after the midweek friendly match at the Goldstone ground.

These two incidents im referring to, have constantly been denied by Palarse. Nobody said Brighton always ran Palarse or vice versa. Like I said. Im sure Palarse had their moments over Brighton, but Stamford Bridge, and the year Brighton went into the Palarse end, were not their moments. Thats all..

Most of the Premier 'fans' don't actually go to games at any club for a start. It's just something about QPR, maybe they have a problem with being in the shadow of Chelsea and Fulham not to mention most other London teams but I just can't stand anything about them.

I went to the match at Stamford Bridge and can confirm that this event took place , Palace fans are in denial about this ever happening.
