With 11 widesYeah but I drag a single over out to 10minutes or so when I'm bowling to make up for it.

I think it's important for a bowler to test all parts of the pitch. With 11 wides
I have to confess to Monopoly too.I have tipped the board, but only in Risk.
Both mine have MScs and me and I flunked my A levels, but I’d murder them both at Scrabble or any other word game. Like many their age their age their spelling (and grammar and general vocabulary) is AWFUL (I had loads of ambitious go-getting (entitled) MBA-qualified newish entrants in my old work team, there written reports could not of been worse
I blame the parents.
He really should be contributing (imo). He probably gets a staff discount at Morrisons as well, so get him to do the shopping. You probably won't get what you asked for, if my experience is anything to go by, but it's the thought that counts. Even if you don't ask him to contribute to it, it may start registering to him how much it costs! Although this has the potential to back fire, he'll stay with you longer as he realises he can't afford food if he moves out.He doesn’t buy his own food.
I proof read all his work and because it’s researched based it was written as such. It was very good but Jesus was it dull. I could never have applied myself like he has. Both mine have MScs and me and I flunked my A levels, but I’d murder them both at Scrabble or any other word game. 100% agree…….youngest did his MSc dissertation on football (nearly 100 pages of data and analysis on corners taken in the Women’s Championship), it was as dull as ****.I proof read all his work and because it’s researched based it was written as such. Actually you’re right , giving these kids in their 20’s full board and lodging without contributing is surely creating a problem in itselfIf he doesn't buy his own food, then to ask for a contribution is more than reasonable! Tbh, even if he does buy his own food it's not nasty to ask for a contribution. As soon as my Jnr started working full time, I said he had to contribute, it's the principle than anything.
Honestly I’m of the opinion that this is a tiny, inconsequential part of a very deliberate and calculated move in our society, away from the “individual as king” towards a more organised society.
Cultures where population numbers require individuals to work together symbiotically are seen as more productive than those where everybody wants to be their own Billy Big Balls and rule the school.
Being brought up in a similar time to you, I absolutely get the gut reaction of “FFS, will these kids even be able to wipe their own arses.” However, I think it’s the way society as a whole is going, the ability to collaborate and work with others is going to be prioritised over individual skill-sets.
The ant hill and the bee hive are more productive than those creatures who forage individually. Between AI and climate change, I’m not sure the future’s going to look very much like what we grew up with.
TLDR - FFS, will these kids even be able to wipe their own arses.
I don't know! It could be argued that while they're at home without contributing, they could be saving to get their foot on the housing ladder or something. But I think they should contribute 'something'. My Jnr is the same age as @Questions, he did 'all the maths' a couple of years ago & got himself a studio flat about 3 months before the costs of everything went through the roof. Even to him who'd paid 'something' the costs of everything was unexpected & quite a big jump. I send him Pot Noodles via Amazon subscription (I don't really) but he is struggling. It's safe to say when he was working out his weekly shopping bill, he forgot things like washing up liquid, washing powder, cleaning stuff & things like that. He does buy them and use them before it sounds like he's living in a hovel with dirty clothes, dishes and a general Young Ones style! He just didn't think to add them to his shopping budget!Actually you’re right , giving these kids in their 20’s full board and lodging without contributing is surely creating a problem in itself
Yep fair enough because that cheeky little part time job (couldn’t have them working 38hours a week could we ) will go along wayI don't know! They need Emoji-scrabble, shirley!Does everything have to watered down and made safe for the soft handed wimps of the new world?
“The makers of Scrabble found that younger people, Gen Z people, don't quite like the competitive nature of Scrabble," he said. "They want a game where you can simply enjoy language, words, being together and having fun creating words."
Jesus f***ing wept.
Scrabble: Mattel launches new version of game which is 'less competitive'
Mattel says the new board is designed to be accessible for those who find word games intimidating.www.bbc.co.uk
It's ALWAYS shocking when someone starts to spell Crystal....Played a family game of scrabble one Christmas. Our then new Spanish daughter-in-law with a limited English vocabulary carefully laid the c-word. No idea how many points, but a bit of a shock!
Mostly dominoes.I have to confess to Monopoly too.
I did discount his 'housekeeping' money on the grounds he had to travel on Southern fail everyday, he used to leave here at 6am and get back at 6.30pm (trains permitting). Trauma discount. He doesn't have a 'high flying' job, it's just one that he used to really like, after 8 years he's beginning to hate it!Yep fair enough because that cheeky little part time job (couldn’t have them working 38hours a week could we ) will go along way
