I lived there for 6 months and had a gun pointed at my head twice: once by a police officer and once by a security guard.. and I'm one of the good guys 😬 Things can go wrong there very quickly.
Stay safe @AZ Gull !
I've been to the US a good few times, and travelled all over - and the only place I've had a gun pointed at my head, was a local pub in Liverpool

I'm not sure that I'll be too upset if RDZ leaves, it has always felt that we are another stepping stone for him and that he is just passing through.

I was absolutely gutted when Potter left, it won't be the same when RDZ leaves and I think we are a much more attractive option for coaches now as well (providing they like working with unlimited 18/19 year old attacking forwards).

I used to drink there occasionally in the 1990s - absolute shithole even then.

We used to play "spot the drug deal".
I was in student halls, then a house, both just round the corner, from 1989-1992. It was our closest pub by far, so in there a fair bit. It didn't seem a bad place then, tbh. It either went downhill quickly afterwards, or we were just hopelessly naïve / drunk / generally oblivious!

But who would keep us all updated about the comings and goings of the Albion under 16 team?
Actually, that reminds me:

Albion U-16 Adam Brett is in the Welsh U-17 squad for two friendlies against Bosnia & Herzegovina. He started in the first match on Tuesday which finished in a 2-2 draw. The second match is tomorrow.

Albion U-16s Freddie Simmonds, Harry Howell and Tyler Silsby are all in the England U-16 squad for the Football Federations Cup taking place in Albir, Spain. The first match is against Saudi Arabia, next Wednesday.

Well with the greatest of respects, i think you're totally in the wrong.

Right now we have a manager who wants - and crucially, believes - Brighton & Hove Albion can compete for a spot in the Champions League. He's highly thought of in the media and by opposition, hence he's being linked with the Barcelona, Liverpool and Man City jobs. He plays highly attacking football like nothing we've ever seen before.

He's passionate. He celebrates with the fans. He tells his friends how excited he is to feel the pre match buzz in town on a European matchday. He kicks every ball on the touchline. Quite simply, he 'gets it'. We are Brighton, big balls and all that. This is what fans of other clubs dream of. And we have it right now. Incredible.

I think it's a sad ending and a waste to be honest, albeit an inevitable one when you've got a passionate and demanding coach mixed with a board who for all their fantastic work, tend to think they are right about everything, when they aren't.

I hope we don't go back to the days of a corporate manager talking guff and party lines about 'projects' but i fear that's the way it's going.

RDZ is an exceptional and innovative coach. Note how Dunk, March, Gross, Mitoma, MacAllister all improved their game, I bet they rate him.

Imperfect obviously, but this season he’s managed with a raft of injuries and the summer 2023 transfer window didn’t deal with RB, LB and DM.

I see the signing of Dahoud is constantly thrown at him on NSC and no doubt he’ll be slagged off once he moves on, but he’s the best I’ve seen in my 48 years of following the club. I think he’ll flourish at a club with a big budget and a cerebral recruitment strategy.

I do find it weird that a young, up and coming coach is constantly blamed for us picking up a fairly tidy but not spectacular player on a free, and then it not working out, when you consider how many millions have been spent on academy players that have disappeared into the sun (Taylor Richards anyone?)

Of course he's not perfect. But for a club of our size it's hard to imagine anyone ticking more boxes.

I'm not sure that days of clubs spending limitless amounts aren't coming to an end (in the PL at least), but WTF is a 'cerebral recruitment strategy'

P.S. No sign of any spring flowers on my verge yet ???

The antithesis of Boehly's Chelsea, Manure 2013 to 2023.

Brighton, Liverpool, Sporting Lisbon examples of getting most transfers spot on. ManC could be added but they do attract with vast salaries.

Spending - you'll find that the big CL clubs will still have great spending power.
