But Romano's tweet appears to have been 19 minutes before Ornstein's

Unless that's your point?
Time for Ornstein to actually check with the club AND write/update a story about it, no? Romano is tabloid 'print now, check later', while the likes of Ornstein are more old school and prefer to try and just tell the story without all the sensationalist nonsense.

Aside from all that, what's striking about the agent-botherer's tweet is how much more money TB and co managed to screw out of Chelsea in the end. Phenomenal business :lolol:

To an extent yes, but he's projecting himself as the man with all the inside information, when he's not really any different than the Sun's sports desk.
But that’s your problem not his really

He’s right far more than he is wrong, because he’s getting his info directly from agents. When he’s ’wrong’, it’s usually because the situation changes. Like it or not he is getting his info way ahead of mainstream media much of the time because it suits the agents to have him onside

Or because it was never true in the first place. Agents leak all kinds of things they know are untrue. For example, Brighton are interested in X player. The prime motivation of an agent is to make money. Journalists have a bit more to think about

Exactly - hence why I said it suits the agents to have him onside. Sometimes he’ll fall for their BS

Well sort of. Being first is almost always more important than being completely right for Fabrizio. In this scenario, Ornstein and Romano got the original information from the same (or similar) sources, but Ornstein went to other sources (the club) to corroborate the story and get a wider picture than the one delivered to him (likely by the agents).

My point is that Romano is very good at getting information that excites people, and very good at being the first to put that out, but as a freelancer with a reputation of being the first, he doesn't prioritise getting the full story in the same way an Ornstein does. What you get from Fabrizio is "generally" true, but it isn't objective reporting in the way we expect from journalists.

Not at The Sun they don't.

How is that my "problem". Actually you're a good reason why he gets on peoples tits. Any time someone dares to suggest he's not the messiah, just a journo with good pr skills and the fanboys come out the wood browbeating anyone who disagrees. He has good contacts and agents place stories with him, but loads of his stuff is just reguritated from other sources.

He’s never claimed to be the main man - that’s your perception so your problem.

I’m not a fan boy , but you’re the one going on about the bloke. Just ignore him and wait for Andy Naylor or something 🤷🏻‍♂️

Surprised how many grown men get their knickers in a twist over a bloke on twitter

Brilliant.

Another transfer thread goes down the Romano black hole.

Guys, you don't have to comment on him every single time. Just ignore his tweet.
It is the law of the internet: ad Romanium.

All transfer threads will eventually descend into a discussion of Fab and his Xweets.

Loan. It's got to be a loan. They are trying to arrange it, announce it all at once and it's taking ages to get the right loan arranged.

The notion that they are taking all this time as they are trying to prepare some sort of elaborate signing presentation video makes no sense. It's not Mbappe, it's a left back with 30 senior apps.

If I understand correctly he’s still in Argentina, and there’s no point him coming all the way to the UK as everyone’s in Dubai, plus he’s going to be playing for the Argentina team in the pre-Olympic tournament which starts in a few days. So the delay could just be so we can get a couple of club reps out there to organise a media shoot, etc.
Just a guess though.

Why do we need a media shoot is my point?

All anyone wants to see is an article on the club site saying .... "The club are delighted to welcome the signing of Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors. He is a player we've been watching for .... blah blah blah".

They can do a "meet Valentin Barco" feature with photos and videos in a months time.

Or if they are that desperate to have him in an Albion shirt, DHL him one (could have done this weeks ago) and book him into a photoshoot in Argentina
