Mushrooming

Found a pair of Giant Puffballs yesterday. Both about the size of a size 3 football.
Made me think of RDZ.

Beautiful. The last one I found (before HS2 came along, and smashed up my secret mushroom field), I used to go and visit every other day and take a slice off to have with my dinner. Lovely.

Seems to be a very bad year for everything. Not just 'shrooms, but chestnuts, sloes etc.
Or am I just not getting out enough? It may be better in Sussex?

Not been mushrooming this year but have seem them in field whilst driving but went and collected chestnuts and they were some of the best I have seen for many a year down here in Sussex

Years ago looking for mushrooms along the banks of the river Avon and we found these dinner plate sized field mushrooms they were absolutely delicious
