Lineker: "Another spectacular performance from Brighton."

Murphy: "This is an intelligent team, Gary. It doesn't matter who they play....they play with a load of freedom, they've got great technique, they trust each other. It was a really composed performance."

Plenty of analysis.

Then to top it all off...

MOTD screen headline: "Brighton are just brilliant."

Murphy?

That was too insightful for Danny Mills.

For the first time in ages we beat a top team and the analysis wasn’t all about how bad our opposition played. The narrative is changing to “we shouldn’t be surprised”.

It’s strange to be in a position where constantly being underrated is such an advantage for us. When we get taken seriously and respected too much, we struggle (Everton, West Ham). It’ll be interesting to see how RDZ solves those puzzles - because he will solve them.

Can anyone answer this, did we (some of us discussing) put a clause in RDZ contract that he can’t leave mid season but is free to move during the summer?
He's under contract, so he can't leave at any time without us agreeing. But it doesn't really work like that with managers, as if they're not happy you kinda have to let them go.

IIRC, I'd heard somewhere (it might have even be an interview with PBOBE) that he has a release clause, but it is only active during the off season.

Love this in the comments in the Guardian report

The top rated comment in the BBC Sport report:

"Brighton showing it doesn't matter who you sell if you are a well run club from top to bottom.
United showing it doesn't matter who you buy if you are a badly run club from top to bottom."

Manure tw@t Mark Goldbridge on TS just had a rant about that. Furious that clean sheet machine De Gea was got rid of, replaced by a £45m rubbish keeper.
Confession: I actually quite like Mark Goldbridge. I started off thinking he’s a figure of fun but he’s grown on me. Yes he’s a bit irrational; yes he’s a Man United fan. But I love the way he wears his heart on his sleeve, and I think his verbal wordsmithery really impressive. He’s also usually quite fair towards skilled opponents. If you’ve not come across his work, check out YouTube. The Liverpool 0-7 is a highlight.

My dislike came from when they won a few games last season, I think one was the FAC Semi. Alex Crook was another southern Manure fan who was irritating at that time. There’s nothing worse than arrogant Manure celebs ….. James Nesbitt, Eamonn Holmes, Mick Hucknall. Alex Crook has since warmed on me, he’s fantastic on Albion transfer news, a rarity he just deals in facts and credible rumours, he seems to have grown up!

The 7-0 was a funny moment, I thought I’d exhausted the vids, Neville and Keane my highlights. I’ll check that out, thank you. The Peter Drury match highlights is a thing of beauty ….. love him.

Just back, emphatic performance and Gross was outstanding.

Two other things:

First time ever a doorman on a Five Guys restaurant and I had to bite my lip post match waiting for a tram back hearing a Utd fan say "Eventually teams will work them out playing like that" arrogant wanker

I agree about ManU celeb fans. Without wanting to overdo my praise, I think Goldridge has creative verbal talent. A big like another Marmite character, Danny Baker. Not for everyone, I accept.

I like the humble MG after another defeat :lolol: .

Andy Goldstein is a very bearable southern Manure fan, he’s witty and likeable. A wind up artist.

Watched the whole game back on game of the day on Sky. Brilliant performance, rode out the first 15 mins or so and from then onwards only one team playing all the football. Exceptional from JPVH to have Rashford running at him all game and not get a second yellow or let him score.

Only slight question mark for me would be Dahoud. He wasn’t bad by any means just not quite as good as the others. But he hasn’t played much football in the last 18 months in fairness, I’m sure he will come into his own soon
