Squeeze gave me nightmares.

I was only 8 years old when it aired and I'd begged my parents to let me watch the show. The first two episodes were OK but Squeeze scared the absolute shit out of me. Parents refused to let me watch the rest of the show :ROFLMAO:

Now I'm writing a script for a YouTube video about why it's the scariest episode ever.
If you’re serious I’d love a link when the video is finished.

For sure! It's been on my project list for a long time and the re-watch has spurred me on a bit
TXF is one of my obsessions (along with Partridge, which I quote incessantly). Be delighted to watch when it’s done - DM me

Given the distances involved, isn't interstellar travel essentially impossible? So unless the aliens come from within our own solar system (which is unlikely) then the chances are there are no "vehicles" or the like.

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely convinced that somewhere out in the universe there is indeed another race of intelligent beings. The universe is simply too vast and with too many planets, suns and galaxies for Earth to be alone in this regard. However, I don't believe we will ever find evidence of them.
Connecting billions of people through a computer network was also essentially impossible until it wasn't. Same goes for a lot of our technology. Travel back 3000 years and tell people about a future where there will be toasters and a thing called "electricity" and they'd think you're insane.

If they actually have awareness of UFOs/ET life (or even captured UFOs), I just can't see it getting revealed until it is necessary. Imagine if the US says "yeah, we've had some aliens locked up since the 50s"... everything would fall apart. Trust in government and institutions would be destroyed, permanently. There would, justifiably, be a lot more paranoia about what else they've managed to keep secret, and any time they'd say something, people would just assume it was all lies. It would certainly be a threat to national and perhaps global security.

Obviously I am open minded, but also cynical (which someone should be) and my cynical side, thinks this is a money making exercise for those in power, and big business.
1: They admit to aliens and we need to invest billions of money on defence, because they could be hostile - even though there have only been a handful of aggressive incidents, although it could be considered aggressive if they are being fired on by world nations as allegedly happened in Iran, Italy and Peru along with the USA.
2: They tell us there is no conclusive proof, but we should remain vigilant and beef up security, spending you guest it billions on defence.

I really can not see America admitting there is alien or unknown life forces visiting us, America is a lets face it a hard right and can't see them telling the conservative hard right Christian's, that there could be other life forces out there in the universe or beyond, bringing into question their beliefs.

Yeah this could be a blocker for sure. Although one of the members of Congress who has been pushing for this hearing is Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee.

Genuine question and it’s one I’ve always felt like raising is, why would such news bring questions to their belief?

Maybe one of the boards Christian’s could answer?

My view too. When we look at a star, what we are actually seeing is what that star was like hundreds of years ago - unreachable unless we can travel faster than the speed of light (a lot faster for it to be practical) which we can't. And I am absolutely certain that we never will.
Aliens coming from outer space to visit us would have to solve exactly the same problem. They can't, and they haven't.
