Personally I can’t believe we started at £30mill. I’d have gone in with £5 and seen how long it would take for Toddy to crack.

I agree. Almost guaranteed a start here and less pressure, we’d be better for his steady development, our track record proves that.

Even if just for another season’s loan.
Indeed and because we are now a global showcase, we should be returning him with a valuation millions more than if he had stayed mostly in Chelsea's 'reserves'. They should actually be paying us for any further loan!
Would anyone take £50m+ Colwill for Caicedo or do we want more?
That would do nicely! Colwill may never be worth more than Caicedo but he won't be anywhere near £50m less valuable.

If we can't get Colwill, Pavlovic (left footed CB at Salzburg) is a solid defender who can play out from the back. Won the Austrian league with Salzburg this year, and previously the Serbian Cup with Partisan Belgrade. His Champions League experience this season included draws against Milan and Chelsea and a win against Roma in the Europa League. Perhaps not as cultured as Colwill going forward, but a better defender.

Chelsea fans losing their shit over our “ insulting offer” for Colwill. Seemly we have ripped out millions from them and now trying to “steal” a world class defender!

warms the cockles of the heart

@GeorgeZ3ro tweeted: "If Colwill was at Brighton and Chelsea wanted him they would as minimum 80m. Absolutely have no shame. Mid table clubs always overprice their players. Caicedo for 80m where you can get a cheaper alternative for half the price."

had to laugh at this quote from a Chelsea fan regards our bid.....

Bassey has been absolutely slated this year largely because of his ability on the ball. That tweeter is clutching at straws.

There must be something in it. Charlie Parker-Turner does seem to have an 'in' with Brighton and often corrects the many stories going round about our players.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

His form has dipped, but that doesn't mean he has no ability on the ball.

Attached is an analysis piece on him from totalfootballanalysis.com

He is a perfect candidate for our style of play.

We tried to buy him last summer ie a loan to buy, but Chelsea would only allow the loan.

I think we’ll walk away and try elsewhere.
Yes, agreed - but no harm in leaving the £30M bid on the table. Perhaps whisper a few subtle but crafty words in the ear to unsettle the player his agent who'll want their percentage of a transfer fee.
