Micky got us out of Division 4 mate, which we have not returned too - after being 23rd for two years on the bounce. Amazing achievement. Your Wikipedia stats are doing you no favors mate - yes we finished 9th - we played some nice football ( if fannying about with it is your thing) but that does not make him the greatest manager in Albion History - absolutely not!
Managing 120 top flight league games for us and finishing in our highest ever league position has to have him up there no?

So yeah - Toney misses a big chance every 4 games - Solly misses 1 every 14 games.

That feels right to you does it?
Toney renowned for missing sitters and Solly isn't?
But i'd keep it away from sitters. Even the best miss easy chances. Solly or Danny or any of them didn't really miss what you'd call a sitter last night and we've not been doing it this season. It's the lack of instinct and striker know how that we are missing. It's the balls flashing across the empty box that concern me, the shots that aren't being followed in. But biggest of all, it's how good we're making keepers look. Pope, Raya and Henderson are all decent keepers clearly, but they've also had average games as well this season. We've made all of them look like Lev Yashin's even better at goalkeeping older brother. It could be a co-incidence, that we've just had bad luck they've performed well against us, or it could be that we're lacking conviction with our goal shooting.

To be honest, if the plan is to continue with Welbeck, March, Lallana etc in these attacking positions and hope things improve, I think we're going to have a miserable time watching Brighton this season.

There were moments in the first half where our passing and movement were as good as I have ever seen from an Albion team. The movement and passing for Solly’s f*** up when through on goal with two players waiting for the ball being one of them.
Absolutely this. Those people that said it was a shit performance were obviously only looking in the 6 yard box. Here's what a Forest fan had to say:

"Brighton are an incredibly fluid team that take your breath away when you see what the manage to do all over the pitch".

I think we're going to need a bit more patience than a lot of people seem capable of. 4 games is not the time to start having a go at a new manager who arrived at a club where the only way was down. I'm dreading what this place will be like after Chelsea and City.

I get the frustration we waited three seasons for Potter to get it right and the thought of going through it all again with RDZ will wear on peoples patience.

This is getting stupid comparing zero goals March to Ivan Toney who we would all sign in a heartbeat.
Yeah it is. I will agree it's a stupid comparison.
But I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

This argument will go on forever, but the bottom line is:
So far, it doesn't look like Tony Bloom wants to build a team around a prolific goal-scorer.

If one falls in our lap, from recruitment/development, fair dos.
But they aren't going to break the bank for one.

In a heartbeat those pikey inbreds are closing on us and will be above us after next couple of games. We have all these chances but you just feel its never going to go in the net, rather worrying as we won't get an easier game all season.

"Thank f*ck they haven't got a clue how to score" he added :lolol:

we've been saying it for 5 years .....but carry on wondering .... it now appears we have a manager who's shitting himself about exploring options against a team that have been absolute dog shyte up until now and whom we could not take the game from ....Albion mojo right now 3/10
And after those 5 years we are 7th in the Premier League and still don’t have that striker

Absolutely my point, fantastic passing, immense amounts of possession, but no end product, if that’s what you go to watch football for, then absolutely be overjoyed by it, I personally would prefer to see some goals and us win a game and push on from the fantastic start to the season!
As I said “all huff and no puff” against a very poor bottom of the table side, isn’t what I’d call an entertaining night out.
How do we solve this, alot of people think just go out and buy a striker, its not as if we have not done this because we have, not sure what the problem with Undav is, never started under Potter, now RDZ, they must see something in training.

The problem we have just like alot of teams outside the top 6 is that we have to get lucky. We are not giing to break the bank for someone that doesn't guarantee lots of goals and there is no guarantee that you will score lots of goals if he's that good he's likely to go to one of the top 6 sides.

Judging by some of the comments from some of our fans regarding RDZ, if we did buy striker and he doesn't score on his debut then we'll be moaning about how crappy is.

Only someone with a spiteful agenda would compare Solly with Toney.

Solly plays wide midfield with a part brief to shore that side up with Veltman, which they do expertly.

Whilst Toney is a striker, working in a pair, with a free rein to maraud through the middle, get amongst defenders. We should only compare Toney the striker with Maupay, Welbeck, Ferguson and Undav.

Don’t think Potter ever wanted Undav was it a way of getting money into Union?

Last night eh? LOL

I mean you have to laugh or else you'll cry.

Textbook Amex era Albion. Utterly dominant and no goals because of a MOM performance by the visiting 'keeper.

We were as good in possession as they were dog toffee. I'd have been made up with just one goal, any old f***ing goal but it was not to be.

I think the thing that gnarls most of us is, we’re not crap, if we were crap most would accept it, but we’re not, we’re good, bloody good right up to the point where we have to shoot, even having lost several very key players we’re still pretty bloody good !
Now if we can’t score, we either need to bring in a striker who can or we need to coach goals into the players we have got…..and that’s where our downfall is…..that isn’t happening !
