What a shit show that was.

Alarm bells are ringing for me tonight.

No knowledge of English football whatsoever. Likewise the coaching team. Club completely stripped of personnel from the top downwards. Players seemingly not prepared to play for RDZ. Mitoma out injured. Undav waste of money.

Last time I had a sense of impending doom like this was during the Hyppia clusterfuck.
Oh, do f*** off. Seriously

So does that make you happy with that shit show? Forest were hopeless, by far the worst team to have played at the Amex since our promotion to the EPL, a team that would struggle in league one. At the moment Rdz looks like someone who was over promoted, so unlikely to end well.
Looking at the lack of confidence in the squad, it's quite possible we won't win before the world Cup break, which would be 8 games without a win. What would you do then?
We would be talking about a good victory if our strikers could finish, that wasn’t the managers problem before and it isn’t now. We need to sign a striker, it has been the same story for 3 years. That’s on Tony

I would be more worried if the team weren’t creating chances , they are , lots of them and dominating most of the games too . The team will start winning again soon , there’s no need to fret.

There's no way I would reach such a conclusion after 3 games.
Plus it's obviously incredibly poor form to agree with Junior, but ...

... I can't help thinking this is where we'll be at when Easter finally appears on the horizon.

The only difference being Sami was trying to keep a League 1 side in the Championship.

GPott got lucky then legged it at the perfect time, leaving Bob with all the expectations but no actual change in club identity.

Junior with a full net again :fishing: some of you never learn:moo:
This sort of fishing and trolling, if that's what it is, deserves a perma-ban. If it isn't fishing and trolling (a combined activity, fishing itself can be fun) then the OP is a moron and deserves pelters, again and again. If the OP thinks he's being funny, then he's on a par with half the chuckle brothers. Personally, I don't see this as the equivalent of a Crodo thread. It's the equivalent of a das reich thread, but without the forriners, trained marxists, and muslims.

Frustrating to watch , just like several home matches post season

Roberto the first Albion manager/ head coach with no wins in first four matches since Barry Lloyd in 1987! I remember that well.

Here's hoping this run improved soon.

Don’t really agree. If this was Hyppia we would’ve lost tonight. We played well, created loads of chances, just crap finishing. RDZ can’t get out there and score himself. If someone scores just 1 of our chances tonight then we’d all be fine with the overall performance.

The problem is not to do with the managers performance, it’s just the same old story of needing a decent striker. We’re not going to go out and spend £50m on a 20-25 goal striker, that’s not our transfer model and is totally unrealistic, but we do need to find a 10-15 goal striker..
Agree we do need a 10-15 goals a season striker, but who? How many of them are there? If there was a PL striker who has consistently hit those numbers for say the last few seasons he would be way out of our price range and probably wouldn't want to come to us. Unless we get seriously lucky and unearth a gem from the Championship or lower (very unlikely) or someone from Belgium / France / Switzerland etc we will never have that elusive goalscorer and will have to rely on a few chipping in with 5-6 goals a season. I read that 'TB should push the boat out and spend millions on a striker' but say he was prepared to do that would said player want to come to us when say West Ham, Everton, Newcastle would probably be in for him as well?

A serious comment on a shithouse thread is probably going to set the OP off in a masturbatory frenzy. However....yes, that's correct. Some people think Bloom should jolly well rip up the club's finances, binge £50 million on a Richarlison type, pay him double what everyone else ears, sit back and enjoy the goal fest.

Perhaps, at some point, we might do this. I am genuinely unsure whether it would be the right thing to do, whether it would make much difference, and indeed whether I want it at all. I therefore have contempt for those who demand someone other than themselves take a massive gamble with the club and insist that if I can't see that this must happen then I'm a fool.

Remember when we were in the old first division? As an unfashionable tin pot club at the time, we ended up paying the highest wages in the country for second rate players who we put on 6 year contracts. That went well.

Some people will not and cannot learn. I don't think we have a right to criticize our owner for not spending more money, and criticize our managers for (apparently) not asking for money to sign a striker, and our recruitment team for (apparently) not being capable or interested in identifying a decent striker to sign. I don't think we have the right to make up perverse narratives. Leave that to Jacob Rees Mogg.

And starting troll threads about it, with the narrative perverse, is pitiful.

All true. I think it’ll have to be another Maupay situation. A dip into the championship. Maupay scored 10 in his first season and then declined. We need to find someone who scores those initial numbers but then improves. Easier said than done but it’s the route we might be forced to go. Brereton Diaz maybe? Scored 22 last season, and stated this season well with 8 in 16. Only 23 & in the last year of his contract.

He's back!

There is definitely some truth in this. Expectations are now based on April 9th to Sept 4th 2022. P14 W9 D3 L2 pts 30.

However, the proceeding 14 games from 26 Dec 2021 to April 2nd was P14 W3 D5 L6 pts 14.

Suddenly this little run of form P4 W0 D2 L2 pts 2 is seen as some kind of disastrous run that will lead to our demise, when including Spurs and Liverpool in those games is absolutely on point for where we were 9 months ago.

Let us not forget, the start of that amazing run was straight after ending a 6 game losing streak with a 0-0 home draw to Norwich, where for some, our relegation was then a certainty...

Agree. Diaz has good numbers but buying a Championship player does have it's risks (as does any transfer). Ollie Watkins came from the Championship for 28m and has 26 in 81 which is hardly prolific and skewed as scored into the teens in his first season, so hasn't done much since. Alan Armstrong from Blackburn to Soton has 3 in 33. Then you look abroad, say a guy in a European league who is prolific, you can guarantee every single PL club will be aware of him and most could outbid us.

Say TB decided to push the boat out and decided Tammy Abrahams is our man and bids £60m and offers him 150k a week and the offer is accepted by Roma and this alerts say Arsenal, Toon, Villa, West Ham who come to the party and offer him more, who is he going to choose?

I agree on no account should we give our new manager any time to get his team playing his way. And especially we shouldn't give him a transfer window or two.

Troll out!

Pukki !

Nsc snobs wouldn't take him though despite him being way better than anything else we have.

Is it really snobbery? Two seasons in the PL and how many goals? Two relegations as well, is he really the solution?

I wonder what posters think the score would have been had last night's Albion played Mr Hughton's Premier League team?
Or, for that matter, GPotts Albion?

For all the changes and upheaval, the money sloshing through the club, the noise from the boardroom, there has been one constant factor...

...Brighton nil.
With occasional bouts of 'we've turned the corner' brilliance.

I don't fully understand why Sami is regarded as the benchmark of shite.

Here's his debut Championship league team.
A defence that probably wouldn't get relegated this season!

With Chris O'Grady spearheading the attack.
Does any of this sound at all familiar to anybody?

I got shot down in flames last time I suggested Brereton Diaz on NSC. Seems most on here don't rate him.
