I do not understand why there seems to be no investment towards a striker. We have money, do I expect all of the sum from White/Cucurella/Potter/Bissouma to go to a striker? No but at least invest 20/30m on someone
How much did Liverpool pay for Nunez?
How many has he scored?

Opinions.

I thought we were too obsessed with wing play, making us predictable second half.

Trossard and Lamptey receiving the ball with a standing start at the centre line. No runners.

There was a beautiful Amex goal in Aug/Sept where Caicedo grabbed the ball (and game) by the scruff of the neck. Simply charging forward down the middle, creating chaos, panicking opponents, creating space.

Great teams mix tactics mid game.
Charging forward yes. Breaking at pace through the middle, beautiful. Trying to pinball it through eleven players? Not so good.
Wasn't it great though, those few months...

I presume you remember the similar dross we turned out under Potter well into his tenure?
I sure do, but towards the end of his reign he’d undoubtedly found a way to start scoring and winning at home, hence we’ve regressed... but I did say Forest were soooooo negative and parked it was going to a worldie or a calamity to score this evening. . . We do lack an option though and (sadly) I don’t think Undav is anywhere near up to it.

It’s now a very tired and worn cliche but holy Christ we need another striker... it’s ball crushingly obvious.

Three persons/people need to have a good think about how that game went.

Firstly the players. Sadly Welbeck needs a break, as maybe does Gross. We need to think of Solly as a useful backup to the first team squad, rose tinted specs do not hide his lack of goals or direct assists.

RDZ cannot allow himself to fall into the trap of keep doing the same thing if it ain’t working. Where was Undav?

Lastly, and controversially, Tony Bloom. We can never forget what he has done, we were there with him, through the bad times and the good, so to speak. But others were not. If the club want to hang on to newer fans and add to them, then he needs to invest in a proven striker. If he continues to resist then we risk losing the goodwill of younger fans who like to support teams on the up, cos we are looking like we’ve peaked right now.

There, said it, off to get my tin hat now.
Frustrating as it is, cannot blame Tony.

The man has invested massive money into the club, more than I, or I suggest you could afford.

We need a striker that can score, we're not there yet, however we have some good players, Danny included, Potter shows he can bring others into game, pehraps what we need is a manager who can gel.

Early days for De Zerbi, and Potter took a while, (I was critical but he proved me wrong) he needs a chance, do think we need to revert to the odd longer ball, stretch defences!

Point is Tony has alway been progressive, we as fans less so, its not or money (even as season ticket holders we're not really cotributing)!

We have great players, are we getting the best from them?

Very disappointing. It’s actually insulting that the likes of Potter, RDZ, Naylor et al keep telling us we don’t need a striker. It’s so obvious it’s ridiculous.

And before the usual suspects start asking me who that should be that is why we have a recruitment department and you know what, 10 games into the season and our strikers have scored ZERO league goals I think someone new might be worth a punt.
Like these gentlemen you mentioned + Barber and others have explained its just not that easy to find someone who scores a lot of goals in the PL.
Lamptey’s not the same player as before his injury- can’t speed past his man, his best attribute.
Its a very sad football story.

I can deal with the frustration of missing a billion chances, what worries me more is the dicking about at the back. It will cost us again like at the start of Potters reign. Could easily have lost a goal tonight with an intense press which actually they didn’t really do well like other teams

Mid mid mid Sussex
Henderson got a 9.3 rating on Sofascore - next highest were Gross and Veltman with 7.4.

He made 7 saves tonight - it was a Team of the Week performance.

There not great and they can't hit a barn door from 5 yards. We have needed a striker for 4-5 years. It's not rocket science.

Palace ahead. Their forwards are light years ahead of ours. So disappointing.
Yeah makes me feel sick but they find the net so easily in an attacking style and the atmosphere so much better than our prawn sandwich brigade which can’t help the team. Only heard Forest fans singing throughout

If only Gross had hit that ball into the ground a fraction more, it would have gone over the
forest keeper's hand and in.

Reality is I don’t think Potter still being in charge would have changed any of the past 3 results. This inability to punish teams in the final third isn’t down to the management, it’s down to the recruitment department and Mr Bloom. Very rarely will I say anything negative about the man but his and the clubs inability to invest in a goal scorer for the past 3 summers is the one thing holding us back, some would say the final piece of the jigsaw. Feel for De Zerbi to be honest, just hope he’s more forceful getting that over to Bloom / recruitment department and it’s addressed sooner rather than later. Welbeck and Undav are not the answer.
I'm not sure. We'd clearly turned a corner under GP, and whilst of course we weren't going to maintain the form we were in and storm to the champions league, we had become much more adept at switching our style and getting the most out of what we've got. and his in game management had become superb overall. We were absolutely flying end of last season and start of this. We ran riot against Leicester ffs just before he left. We'd have taken 4 points from last 2 games I reckon - 3 tonight and 1 last friday.

Nothing against RDZ but a step back was inevitable and suddenly our glaring striker issue is well and truly front and centre again.

So bloody depressing that GP left when he did - I'm more f***ed off by it now that I was at the time I think

Ok, can you buy the player we need?

Will your investment allow it?

Goodness me the rant at Tony Bloom, how much should he spend? And what will you contribute?
