[Albion] Amex food

I would like far more variety including healthy food but it's not an option at the Amex. Is this something perhaps the fan council can take up with the club. I don't want high cholestral eating stodgy pies, burgers, artificial hot dogs etc. If clubs like Forest Green can at least offer slightly more healthy and non meat food why cant the Amex cater for more diversity? You can even get a decaf cuppa tea. Stuff like that is an easy fix. I appreciate it might seem like a moan and I do appreciate that generally food is fast served its just not healthy or appealing. You cant bring much into the stadium so you are somewhat stuck unless you accept the stodge on offer. How do others feel? Thanks.

I think there's a fish and chip 'wagon' outside between the club shop and North Stand. You can buy some fish and take the batter off. I bought some chips there but that needed a bank loan to cover 2 portions, so I only bought one! I'm sure they'd let you bring in a salad box or something like that into the ground. They allow Haribo's . :)

A hot food option would be good like hot potatoes, plastic cutlery and half doz fillings. Plenty of places can manage this for example at airports where simple fast food is the menu. A vegan option would be good.

Stodge and a day out at the football go hand in hand. There’s only so much a football stadium catering outlet can be reasonably expected to offer. If you’re looking for a superior culinary experience, then eat before or after the game, surely?
I see your point but the ko times and need to get there early doesnt help facilitate eating elsewhere. I also think I cant be the only person wanting more variety and healthy options.

I don't think plastic cutlery is the way forward to be honest. But yeah maybe a jacket potato with beans and vegan cheese would be lovely for about 50 people in each stand.

Wraps with say chicken meat or vegan alternative and salad must be achievable. Jacket potatoes dont have to just be vegan. If the Potatoes arekept hot adding 1of say half doz filings cant be that difficult. For speed you could have the fillings in say plastic containers and fans top the jacket themselves.

I don't think I'd want a jacket potato that's been kept hot with a filling in for an hour. I can't see a 'fill your own potato' buffet working on the concourse either! The fact that you've suggested further plastic packaging for an already ridiculous idea has further confirmed my suspicions that you are a complete WUM. I do however like the idea of a jacket potato stand by the chip van outside the stands. Cold winters night with a jacket potato and chilli actually sounds lovely. (y)

So a jacket outside is doable but not inside? Whats wrong with a pot of coleslaw or tuna mayo or cheese or beans or chilli etc places like KFC manage ok. Plenty fast food places keep jackets hot they dont microwave them while you wait - burgers are kept hot using same the concept.

I went to a Crawley Town match earlier this season they had a van outside selling pizzas from a hot stove-yes seriously had a hot stove you could see in the vans.

I literally can't remember the last time I was able to choose from a freshly-made selection of maki and nigiri from a concourse outlet.

Seriously, when are football clubs going to wake up and give us the sushi we crave?

Lol stodgy pies, our pies are probably some of the best in English football. I would say that the majority our food (except the hot dogs) are of the not crap variant. What I want is to be able to bring a kebab in, I was refused entry for my kebab at the West Ham game last season and forced to engulf it. I just think it would be an additional expense the club wouldn’t do as the demand is minimal, they could be more lenient on letting people bring their own food though, but then that just loses their own potential income. Just try sneak a Tupperware box in.

The pies may have more meat than grissle but are still full of saturated fat and unhealthy.
