I think he has a long term injury so we’d have to get one of our centre backs to physically pick him up and hold him upright in the LWB position, not ideal.

Sounds like a job for Big Dan Burn

Maybe our strategy is to bid up other clubs with the low term view to bankrupting them, ala Storage Hunters?

Yep..... I personally think we're a bit skint (relatively speaking)

Are 'we'.
I know I am, but that's hardly news.

I personally think...... Is not a statement of fact Stat!

It's my own hunch.

tbh I'm surprised by just how wealthy Bloom must be, the amount he's already put in, he's obviously both very wealthy and very generous, and we're lucky to have him, but I doubt he's a bottomless pit, he's not an oil rich nation or middle Eastern prince. There's levels to all this.

Could be wildly wrong and it may all just be some normal part of the plan, but as I survey the landscape of what's going on with us and others, I get the impression that (relatively speaking) we (the club) are not that flush presently and cost cutting is more the order of the day?

Relatively skint, feeling pinch, curtailing losses, sensible financial stewardship in hard times are pretty much all flavours of the same thing.

Would love it if we suddenly announced some mega multi million striker and top level LWB.

Can see who are the 'Haves' this transfer window, and we must certainly have been in previous windows........ Are we more with the 'Have nots' this window?

No shame and no grumbling if that could be the case?

He was mentioned as a possible replacement at Tottenham should they move Reguilon. That looks like a message from his agent to Spurs that uses our public need for a left back as a reminder of his existence. I wouldn't have thought that there is any truth in it at all. No player is going to publicly slag off an EPL team that he knows has a genuine interest in him. The wages in the EPL would have sporting pedigree whoever is paying them.

Spurs just signed a LB today (going back on loan). No chance signing two given already have sessegnon and perisic.

Villarreal have two left backs that we have been rumoured to be after in the past. I’m not sure this one is their best but either way, I doubt we’ve made an offer that the player has turned down.

I hadn't seen that. In which case, then probably the agent looking to advertise his availability to other potential suitors. I would be astounded if that is, or ever was, us. No player is going to respond to interest from a club that has just sold a left back to a Champions League team for a world record fee by deriding their pedigree to the media. If his agent's response to genuine interest was this kind of bridge burning drivel, he needs to sack his agent.
