I was going to try Seagulls Travel but the date to cancel rushed my decision. I first went in 63. Stuart who at one time I sat next to, and I parked my bike by his flat to catch the train, dying of Covid did not help. But it was the trains that did for me as I am a quarter blind and I was an accident waiting to happen, even if mostly problems on the connecting trains and not the shuttle.

I expect it will not be my last visit.

Thankfully I'm reminded, on an almost daily basis, that everything is awesome and I shouldn't grumble because a club that is unrecognisable from today nearly went out of business, a generation ago.

We got a survey to prove it

Yes I shared a survey on another thread because it showed a different view on peoples experience , a positive one, of going to the Albion. A lot of people still love it (I do - and will renew gladly) and are fine with it and rate it highly. Fair enough. But It wasn’t 100% by a long chalk , it’s just one bit of feedback and I’m sure it also captured multiple issues that some fans have outlined here and on NSC for many years and doesn’t in any way invalidate the experiences of others on this thread with very specific problems getting to and from the ground, or cost or fitting in the Albion with their lives. Many of which are moving, heartfelt and several are heartbreaking. And with a Dad who is in a similar situation to a couple of the posters on here who is no longer well enough to attend then something I can truly empathise with.

I cancelled this morning.

It feels almost cathartic for the reasons I’ve mentioned a few times.

I particularly enjoyed the comments box as to why I chose to cancel. Said there’s no point saying anything because Barber won’t listen…..

You do realise you have next to zero credibility on NSC right? There may well be an Albion fan buried deep in there somewhere, but your persona on here is primarily a Paid-For Barber Bot. As per your paymaster, you're Always On, and will respond to any crticise of the club, real or imagined, well within your 30 minute SLA. Well done!

In your world do the club ever do anything wrong?

Ever?

I am gonna renew but must confess that a combination of VAR sucking the life out of the spontaneity that is football, combined with our home form that has been one decent game every 5 or 6....my passion for going to every game is running out of gas so next year may be my last if nothing changes.

I really do feel for you . . . sincerely. Giving up watching the club you have supported for nigh on the last 60 years must come very hard. Fortunately for me l am able to keep my season ticket, for now at least, but who knows what the future may bring?

Living in the real world.
Just cancelled mine. Felt really sad doing it but it means I can travel around the county watching my son play. Glad the club offer the membership thing that allows me to keep my high loyalty points.

Just cancelled mine too. After over 30 years as a season ticket holder, it was not an easy decision but I've found it more and more difficult to motivate myself to attend home games over the past five seasons; and our poor home form and lack of attacking options (something the club always fails to address) has tended to make watching the side a painful experience rather than a pleasure. Not fallen out of love with the Albion, and will continue to support the team and attend the odd game in future, but in all honesty an afternoon at the Amex no longer offers the same level of enjoyment as it once did.

Cancelled. Was planning on doing so because of shit kick off times and the way the club have evolved, lost real touch, regardless of fans forums, Barbers parent/child comm's etc. As it happens health has got me which is a b*****d

3 of my group of 4 have cancelled for all the reasons mentioned so far. I haven’t really enjoyed home games this season but have renewed and am going to get one with my 8 year old son in the hope it rekindles my enthusiasm for matches.

This.

I went to Lewes v Worthing yesterday and had a brilliant time. Off the back of a premier league culture that cares little for fans I can understand why it’s so tempting to walk away. But I shall renew again and hope that things improve, on an off the pitch.

chaileyjem has credibility with me. I will say you have no credibility whatsoever in thinking you can speak for NSC as some kind of whole. He responds to criticism of the club, generally with actual facts, quotes or bits of info from press conferences or surveys etc. Not sure why it’s so difficult to accept someone unequivocally supports and loves their football club. I don’t always agree with him, but always think his heart is in the right place.

Think there was also a bumper 1000+ crowd at Eastbourne v Stale Buns. Non league football does seem to be enjoying record levels of support.

Worthing top 10 points clear - will it be their first time in the 6th tier if they go up?

He has also criticised the club at least once as I recall noting the occurrence, but I don’t remember what the subject matter was.

For me getting one with my son who’s 8 has really brought my love of going back, seeing him so happy regardless of the results is what it’s all about, him signing and shouting along with the north just brings huge smile to my face.

They came close to winning the Isthmian premiere during Barry Lloyd's first spell as manager but haven't played at a higher level than they are currently

The harshest thing about this post is that’s it’s so fair!
