Very plain and very simple, who the **** wants to live in the North East? No one with more than a £1 in their pocket. Newcastle great night life crap aside it is the shithole of England. They ask someone to sign for them, the wag has a look and doesn't matter how many times they call her pet she ain't going. THE END

Have you ever actually been here?

Newcastle is a nice enough city, the Northumberland countryside and coast is stunning. Like everywhere it has good parts and bad, but to dismiss it as you have is nothing short of ignorant in my view.

This re-enforces my long held view that in this over liberal world, far too may imbeciles are given a platform to spew their moronic drivel.

Welcome to NSC.

Oh, you were talking about the Newcastle thing.

Think our Frutos might disagree with you.

You really are wrong. Newcastle is a great city with Northumberland on its doorstep.

Spent time up there myself, yes it's fine, but Sunderland, Hull etc are awful.

It's been spoken about for years. They can't attract players, it's not just me saying it, there's loads on the net asking/saying the same.

Foreign players have expectations.

Even Owen used his helicopter to go to training and flew home each day.

I agree went on holiday to Northumbria in June it is stunning, beautiful beaches (and you can take your dog on them unlike south coast), lovely towns and villages - plenty to do - Mrs and I seriously contemplating retiring up there. Didn’t go to Newcastle but have mates who say it’s a great place for a night out.

I'm certainly not ignorant my friend having spent many a time there. I'm only stating something that's been mooted for years.

Frankly couldn't be bothered arguing as I say much has been written about it. Just like I'd never live in Brighton as I don't like it.

City life is not for me but you aren't attempting to convince me.

If it worries you that much take it up with the reporters that have written their pieces in the papers.

You may hate where I live, I couldn't give a fig.

He is spot on really, except for one thing: The reason most of us like Potter is because we can see the potential of what he is doing. Last season was frustrating because of what could have been. We are playing good football and outplaying many teams. We can see that if a couple of things click we could do something special.

Statistics don't show this.

Newcastle fans ain't seeing that with Bruce. It seems they won't see that with anyone while Ashley is in charge.

I'm a Southerner born and bred, but there are certainly plenty of places around Newcastle where I would happily live. My son-in-law came from Bishop Auckland, so we have gravitated up that way quite often.

Corrected for you, now behave yourself

Really!

Someone states something that has often been spoken about on TV radio and so on. Others don't like it. And What? It's irrelevant much like trying to compare Bruce to Potter.

I didn't start insults I just gave an opinion which is held by many that have looked at the struggles NE teams have had in attracting players.

**** all to do with brexit

What are you on?

Really yes they have be bothered to look it up

Now your starting on me, lovely stuff.
I think if one chooses to live in the countryside, thats their choice and good for them.
Some people who live in the city, either love it or can only afford certain areas of urban dwelling.
No I'm not anything :)

They will make sure they never see that while Ashley is in charge.

Despite never missing game.
Having a pie and a pint at half time.
While trying not to spill it down their SoCal trackie.

Interesting thread this. I was thinking earlier today if this is the season we actually finish above NUFC. I hope so, I w as nth some proper bragging rights over my friends/colleagues. Agree with some points made earlier though, particularly about expectation of fans, and the local press. I can also confirm, after living here for nearly 30 years, that not all of Newcastle is a shithole (but Bishop is DiS!)

What? You come for me. ****ing hell I only started this as a reason for the NE clubs not attracting players, really simple. I haven't come for you at all.

If one states their view then one is able to do so whilst sitting in ones country home. I only said I wouldn't live in a city, think I can say that or perhaps not.

I spend a fair bit of time up that way too for family reasons. Some really lovely areas as you say, and you could buy a bloody mansion for what you get for a 2 bed flat down here, but for me the weather far too inconsistent and cold compared to the south east coast! 14 or do degrees some days in the middle of summer isn't for me (as it was for days when I was up there last month)
