BOBBY ZAMORA is working on a special training schedule during the international break as he closes in on full fitness.
The Seagulls are making the most of the two-week gap between games to help their star striker after he missed pre-season.
And boss Chris Hughton is convinced the club’s back-up staff will have him razor sharp for the Championship.
But he still requires extra conditioning work at the club’s Lancing base.
Unlike many fans, Hughton admits he can wait to see the former Withdean hero play a fuller role.
Hughton said: “He is having a mix of training days at the moment.
“He will train with the squad at times and then he will have specific days which the sports science and medical department have organised for him.
“It’s in our interests to make sure we get as good a Bobby Zamora as we can.
“We have a very good medical and sports science department and they’ll see that he is right for us.”
Hughton accepts pressure from fans to see their idol back in action has been eased by Albion’s flying start to the season.
He added: “We will take our time and make sure he is available for a lot of games.”
