Well its not quite the carcrash squad Sven picked.

But honestly, I'd have thought Bob was worth a sniff as an extra forward when you look at the sheer number of peripheral midfielders that are inevitably going to be trimmed.

And I mean christ, are we really bothering with Darren Bent ?
Heskey has been woeful all season. I know he fits into the system well with Rooney, but surely Zamora was worth a look as backup if nothing else.

Maybe I'm just overly biased cos its Zamora, but looking at that provisional squad, I think there should have been room for him.

Injured ain't he. Fulham will get him fit for the Final but sure I read that he will need a op after that so Capello probably thought too much of a risk

A real shame as i would have loved to see him involved.

Can only assume the reason he hasn't been included is his achilles injury (wasn't it said a while ago in the media that Zamora will need surgury on it by was going to pospone it until after the World Cup if included)

Capello has obviously decided he can take the risk on an unfit uncapped player in these circumstances which is kind of understandable

Yeah, I suppose he has been struggling with injections and stuff.
Hasn't stopped him including other borderline flids in the squad though.

What the f*** is Carragher doing there?

Didn't he retire anyway?

And even if he didn't he really hasn't been great this season. Dawson, Warnock and Baines - by all means but Carragher? Do me a lemon

Every paper picked up on the supposed "letter" sent out by the FA to Zamora. Some said it confirmed he was in the provisional 30-strong squad, others merely the letter asked for him "to make himself available."

Does anyone know what the f*** is going on?

Disappointing, but realistically Zamora was never going to make the 23. Capello has the hardest choices to make in midfield, so I suppose it makes sense that he looks at as many of the options as possible.

My 23 from that would be;
Hart, James, Green
Baines, Cole, Johnson, Carragher, Terry, Ferdinand, King
Walcott, Lennon, Cole, Johnson, Barry (Huddlestone if not fit), Lampard, Gerrard, Milner, Parker
Rooney, Heskey, Crouch, Defoe
