Commentators saying "You can't write it" when someone scores a late goal or there is some sort of other drama. This phrase is really bugging me recently. Heard it during the Man City game last week, and again tonight when Drogba scored (and many other times previously), and it's just stupid. Surely if you were going to write a script for a game of footbal you would want it to be as exciting and dramatic as possible, keep everyone guessing, i.e. lots of late goals/unexpected events/decisions. So surely when there's a late goal why the fuckballs do commentators then exclaim that you couldn't possibly write it!?!? That is exactly how it would be written if it were a script!

Does this annoy anyone else or is it just me? Any other annoying things commentators say? Itv seem to be the worst, complete morons.

I think what they mean is: even if you did try and write something as dramatic and as exciting as you possibly could, it STILL wouldn't even come close to what they have just witnessed.
