Would rather have Adams, Mcghee way of playing does get some good results but hes so negative! Think we may come unstuck later on in the season unless he starts to think a little more positively. For example: We all know that as soon as Oatway is fit he will be straight back in the team and we all know that hes not upto it!
I love Adams and he is a legend but the way he walked out still rankles with me, especially after telling me he would not leave when the first offer comes in.
McGhee is doing a great job, he knows the score at the Albion and you never hear him complain about Withdean or the lack of funds which presvious managers had been prone to mention.
He didnt walk out on us,DK allowed him to talk to another Club, seems DK has a habit of doing that with our managers, when all he has to say no you cant talk to them!!
McGhee is here and now and deserves the chance to build his own side. I have confidence that we'll survive this season and remain a championship side until Falmer is built so long as we stick by him and he sticks with us.
Micky was a good manager but soon jumped ship when a chance to manage at a higher level came along. You can't blame him for that but I would like to see a bit of loyalty from managers and players. Asking a lot in these greedy days I know.
Micky would have to be 'better' judged purely on his record. The great personal tragedy for Micky is he would have had another Championship tucked under his belt if he hadn't quit and left the steering job to Peter Taylor. If he'd stayed he would have ensured that his name and market value would have been elevated astronomically within the English game and he would have gone down in the national history books of the game, rather than 'just' the Albion's history books. Instead, he's had nothing but grief ever since. Today he looked very much like a bloke who knows his team is on the skids. Respect the fact that Micky is fiercely ambitious, but respect Mark McGhee more for being totally honest from day one, making a silk purse out of a sow's ear and showing every sign of honouring his contract.
