Is it really worth it?... A competition where only the top 3 seeds seriously have a chance of winning, maybe seeds 4 & 5 could cause an upset but unlikely, honestly, what is the point of all this?...

PDC World Cup – Competing Nations
England (1) – Phil Taylor & James Wade
Netherlands (2) – Raymond van Barneveld & Co Stompe
Australia (3) – Simon Whitlock & Paul Nicholson
Scotland (4) – Gary Anderson & Robert Thornton
Wales (5) – Mark Webster & Barrie Bates
Northern Ireland (6) – Brendan Dolan & John MaGowan
Canada (7) – John Part & Ken MacNeil
USA (8) – Darin Young & Bill Davis
Ireland (9) – Mick McGowan & William O’Connor
Germany (10) – Jyhan Artut & Andree Welge
Spain (11) – Carlos Rodriguez & Antonio Alcinas
Finland (12) – Jarkko Komula & Marko Kantele
New Zealand (13) – Phillip Hazel & Warren Parry
Austria (14) – Mensur Suljovic & Maik Langendorf
Sweden (15) – Magnus Caris & Par Riihonen
Russia (16) – Anastasia Dobromyslova & Roman Konchikov
Gibraltar (17) – Dylan Duo & Dyson Parody
Slovenia (18) – Osmann Kijamet & Sebastijan Pecjak
Denmark (19) – Per Laursen & Vladimiar Andersen
Poland (20) – Krzystof Kciuk & Krzsystof Ratajski
Belgium (21) – Patrick Bulen & Rocco Maes
Japan (22) – Haruki Muramatsu & Shintaro Hirai
Czech Republic (23) – Martin Kapucian & Pavel Drtil
Slovakia (24) – Peter Martin & Oto Zmelik

Mind you, the 16th seeds do have a nice little fitty in Anastasia Dobromyslova and have probably bribed someone...

Back in the 70s international darts was brilliant, especially the Home Internationals.

International darts is something the BDO still does, and it's a big reason why the likes of Martin Adams feel so allied to the BDO cause. I think the point is the PDC want to further alienate the BDO so to have a successful international tournament undermines the BDO still further.

I think the Top 4 seeds have got a decent chance, and Wales should not be written off.

Personally, I'd love to see an Ango-Dutch annual head-to-head - an "Ashes" of darts if you like.

Van Barneveld, Van Der Voort, Stompe, Van Gerwen, Scholten and Klaasen vs Taylor, Wade, Jenkins, Lewis, Baxter and King would be awesome.

It's a fantastic idea, realistically how many teams can win a football or Rugby World Cup??

Well, I didn't see that one coming but I guess if any country was going to fail it would be England after recent sporting disasters... I still think it'll be between Holland & Australia but England's abysmal performance has opened the door for Scotland and Wales, Spain and Austria have played very well though.
