...the Irish have STILL not managed to sneak into the World Cup! Amazingly, offering to be the 33rd team DIDN'T work, apparently.

Any suggestions as to what tactic they can/will use next?

I reckon they'll offer to co-host with South Africa. Probably the best bet.
