We were very ordinary last night and after watching Croatia against France we are going to have to play well to get the point we need to go through,I think the Croats are more than capable of knocking us out!!!

I thought we lacked fluency last night, but then again I suppose we would becasue there was a lot riding on a win.

We have to remember that although Croatia got a good result last night they also only managed a draw with Switzerland, so let's not worry too much.

Plus, I can't imagine Owen going through the whole group stage without scoring.

Having seen most of the games so far, there is no team any better than England.

Greece then Germany and then revenge on France. No problem?

When I first contributed to this thread I was just pissed off that England were giving the ball away far too cheaply. By and large, I don't have a problem with Sven's management - the players repect him, he seems competent enough (apart from his blind faith in Heskey) and he's a great man manager.

After a dire first half performance in any given game, I doubt you'll see him hurling tea cups in the dressing room like retarded managers such as Barry Fry, Ron Atkinson or whoever - because it's not as if the players themselves don't know they are playing badly.

In the end, 2 defeats (France & Brazil) in 21 competitive matches says it all.

I'll be very interested to see how Sweden perform against Italy today...

if they go for italy, who are bound to be nervous (although tactically better off without totti i'm told by the times) then italy could crack and face a real struggle to qualify.

prediction: sweden and denmark to go through

I'd put money on us winning it this year. Simply because I'm working in the US leaving on Sunday and will more than likely miss the rest of the tournament (esp seeing as the finals on independance day!). It'd be just my luck that some yank'll come up to me saying "congratulations matey about the 'soccer'", to which my reply would be "what about the FOOTBALL?", to which his reply would be "Haven't you heard, England just beat France in the Final!" That'd be my WORST nightmare. To a) find out like that, and to b) miss all the celebration back home. But I'd put money on it happening! :censored:

Please God, no! :shootself
