Warwickshire and England A all-rounder Graham Wagg is under investigation for failing a dope test, it has emerged.
He allegedly gave a positive sample after a random drugs test following the final Totesport League game of the season against Gloucestershire.
The England and Wales Cricket Board say they have activated proceedings "in accordance with anti-doping regulations applied to first-class cricket."
The 21-year-old will attend an initial hearing next Monday.
Wagg took five wickets on his Championship debut against Somerset two years ago.
He toured India with England A last winter but has since been hampered by a back injury and did not make any appearances in Warwickshire's County Championship winning squad during the past season.
Any cricketer found to have taken a prohibited substance can expect a lengthy ban.
