I would say that Safeway has a better chance of winning wimbledon, sadly, that option was not in the poll

Tennis is boring ..............as is Henman.

As for next year if Henman wins Wimbledon, I will run onto the pitch at Withdean naked except for a hat with pieces of fruit on it.

Please don't :lolol:

Tim is in the top ten in the world but is not good enough to be champion.

At least we have a player in the top ten which is more than we had for decades. I don't agree with all this overboard stuff saying he's going to win it.

I also said England would get as far as the quarter finals.

We and him are not world beaters but we and him are better than a lot of them.

That's good enough for me.

Henman will never win Wimbledon. A loser, I am afraid.....pure and simple.

Harsh

As I posted before we have a player who is in the top 10 of the world.
Just because he hasn't won a Grand Slam title does not make him a loser.

Perhaps, Yorkie. But Henman does seem to lack that killer instinct that distinguishes the great players from the rest. I've lost count of the number of times that Tim has looked on the brink of a major success but somehow or other it always seems to allude him. It's just so frustrating.

I agree which is why he is a top ten player and not a champion.

It is still good to be able to watch Wimbledon and not see the British player go out in the first round every year like we had throughout the 60's 70's 80's and 90's.
Occasionally we could cheer John LLoyd in the doubles but that was about it.
Obviously Ginny Wade gave us a cheer in 77 but that's ladies tennis.

I wonder when we might again have a Wimbledon champion and why it is that we can't seem to produce young players of the quality thrown out by Russia, the US and Australia. It would be nice to see the price money stay at home for once.

We will never produce champions in this country all the time tennis clubs and coaches are only available to rich people.

Working class talent doesn't get a chance to be coached.

If you look at Henman's performance at Wimbledon, I think he has made the last 8 nearly every year in about 10, that is pretty consistent in anyones book. I was probably more optimistic about him going all the way this year than any before, based mainly on his performance in the French open where he held his own on clay for pretty much the first time. Sadly I think it is something that will never be for Tim, look on the positive side though and his contribution to British tennis, how many kids will have taken up the game after being inspired to by him, we may well reap the rewards with a mens champion in around 2012...

But does it make him a looser(sic) like Beckham?

I reckon a quick word search on NSC - and we could have the graffiti artist bang to writes (also sic, whatever that means).

IF ANYONE'S INTERESTED INSTEAD OF YAKKING ABOUT THE TENNIS the bad spelling of loser on NSC has been restricted to the following...

Biscuit
ciderred
Brighton Boy and Brighton Bird - obviously had the same counterfeit Noddy story book
and - using LOOSER a grand total of six times - CrabtreeBHA.

I think they should ALL account for their movements on Tuesday.
