well the original deal would have valued him at £900K (reportedly) but their fans are now talking a fee around the £400K mark. With competition (Scunthorpe are after him apparently and there are going to be others) I reckon we will get him for £400K or thereabouts plus Tunnicliffe going to them on a permanent basis.

Yeah but he is much rather going to want championship football than league 2 so i think that will be a big factor

Effectively they are down, whilst I don't give Walsall a cat in hell's chance of getting anything less than a hammering at SCC they'd have to concede 10 goals and Brizzle need to win by a hat full at Colchester. Hoskins' value may not be as high as some might think as although he has been one of the few bright lights of Rovers' season his previous outings in the Championship have hardly been a stellar success. He's certainly no replacement for Murray.

There it is again, Scunthorpe in League One or Brighton in the Championship, not too hard to choose I would suggest.

I can't see the transfer fee changing if we'd already agreed the deal beforehand

that might influence his choice, but the club will allow the highest offer to talk to him...

though i cant see that Scunny can offer more than us, especially with Tunnicliffe in the mix.

I dunno, Murray was a League 2 player and he has done ok!

I'm sure he would do a good job but I think £250,000 is a good price for a league 2 player.... Murray was £300,000 so I guess that is about the right price

He would not be competing with or replacing Murray. In style of play he is more a cross between Bennett and Barnes and it would be Barnes he would compete with for a place in the starting line-up.

He did well under Knill at Rotherham which is why there is some suggestion that he might be interested to join up with him again at Scunny.
