Why Mayo Has Got Fat!

I saw Mr Mayo in the bakery at Rottingdean the week before last with Gary Hart treating himself to caramel slices and jam doughnuts. Gary Hart bought a filled roll but no cakes.

I also know for a fact that Mr Mayo has been seen enjoying the odd lager or five at several local pubs in the area too recently.

He looked much larger yesterday and I have to say, Mc Ghee needs to give him a kick up the backside as he is a good player when fit. It's a sad site to see him let himself go. :(

I'd say he's an average player when fully fit!:drink:

The same Kerry Mayo we were all saying how much he improved last season and nearly voted Player of the season?

Yes he's put weight on and needs to get fit and hopefully the new gaffer will get him to do just that.

He was very good at the end of last season!

Average division 1 player maybe, good division 2 player!:clap2:

He simply needs to cut out the pies and get himself fit. Bring back Kerry - we don't want Mr Blobby.

I totally agree that he is our best option at left back but i just think he needs to get fit or mcghee's going to fit someone else in the team for him!:(

With the amount of training that professional footballers do, having the odd doughnut or 4 should not really make a player fat. In fact, you need to eat more to be able to burn it off, effectively. Drinking in moderation should also be acceptable as long as it is not too close to match day.
Mayo probably needs to knuckle down to some good CV work on top of his usual training a couple of times a week to get himself back into the condition of the superstar we all know he is. :glare:

I have written him off a number of times over the past 4 years and been proved wrong each time. He has always seemed to get a new less of life with new managers (excepting inhouse appointments). How will he respond this time?

He seems to have let himself go since Coppell praised his consistency a few months ago, perhaps the green light to ease off the gas.

McGhee WILL sort him out, but I still think when fit (and slimmer) he is a good, solid player.

I think he has had a few too many steak and kidney puds as well. Mc Ghee has probably told him to lose weight or else!

Disagree entirely, that's the 'Gazza' approach: "Wah hey it don't matter if I have 8 pints and a chicken kebab 'coz I'm reet good me and I'll jost burn it off termorra like!"

Gerard Houiller said footballers drinking - at any time - was like putting diesel into a Formula One car. The foreigner players know this and don't touch alcohol at all. You're still living in the 70s Stew, they don't live of fish and chips and pints of bitter 3 days a week anymore.
