Why did Plod not hold back CP last night?

Would it not have made their lives easier as well as at least averting some of the confrontation, particularly at the station?

tried to go with a 'treat them respect' idea apparently. maybe worth a shot for the first try, doubt they'll fail to hold them back again.

Naive.
Police will have to follow the lead of well organised Met, Merseyside, Tyne etc who hold away fans back totally at category 1 games.

Not that this is a reason to let them out, but I wonder how much more damage would have been done to the seats etc if they'd been kept in?

(BTW has this damage been confirmed?)

Also seems a shame that the vast majority of Palace fans who were well behaved should suffer/miss trains etc.
