Why Bring On Forster With 20 Mins To Play And The Game More Or Less Won?

My mate asked me the same question - I think the idea was to try to get a third goal and finish them off. They were pushing forward and that left gaps that Forster could and nearly did exploit.

Well thats what I reckoned anyway

statement of intent maybe, not happy to sit on a 2-0 lead.

Sounds like a solid theory. And I suppose it could be argued that pressing for a third goal when 2-0 up is - to coin the cliche of the Summer - A Statement Of Intent.

Will reserve judgement for another couple of games. Could be he's just a lucky manager.

Tho would settle for that for now.

Played 2 won 2 I think I'll give Gus the benefit of the doubt for any strange selections for the moment

I recall a story about the Marketing Director at the first company I worked for. He was recruiting a new salesman and had had hundred's of applications. He got his PA to divide the CV's into two piles at random and placed in front of him. He considered for a while, then picked up one of the piles and dropped the CV's in the bin without even looking at them. Horrified PA asked him why he did this and he pronounced "They're just unlucky. And I only employ lucky people!".

Did he consider whether he was the unlucky one?

The luckiest manager we've had must be Adams (first time around). Just about to sign Pinamonte and was gazumped by Noades only to land up with Zamora. Not so lucky second time round though.

Have a bit of sympathy for THPP, he's finding it hard to stomach Glenn Murray scoring for fun and making his oft spouted 1 in 10 Glenn comments look daft, so is probably a little bitter at the moment.

Yada yada. Seem to recall large numbers of numpties suddenly regarding Murray as the anti-Christ just a couple of months ago, some retards even booing him ON to the pitch. THPP never stooped so low. Regarded him as a lazy c unt last season, but seems that somebody's had a word, or maybe he's suddenly realised the game don't owe him a living and if he wants out of here he has to produce the goods. Still, all is well in Icy Gull World just cos the bloke scored two goals on the telly / in the shop window t'other week. Well done.

I said at the begining of the season that if he really wants to leave he had to produce goals and we would reap the benfit. However, GP says he is going nowhere as he is the type of player that we need to gain the promotion that we all anticpate. He apparently is very happy now , with his new lady who is local and I hope it shows by him coming off of the transfer list and become settled back in with us.
