Why are images not allowed?

Why can't you have images as sigs on here?? I have made this wicked image for this place and other forums I'm on but I cant show it..

Can the admins/moderators say why, please?

I believe it was a decision made way back and I can't recall the exact reasons. Although, if everyone had images, the board would be a lot slower because you'd have to load up all the images.

Only the first time they would take ages to load and I think the user should have a decision to have images turned on or off. Once you've loaded an image once - it loads faster 'cos its in your temp. folder....

yes, but imagine if you're on dial up, that once will be about an hour

Signitures should be small and unobtrusive.
Why don't you tinker with your picture and have it as an avatar ?

Why would we want it anyway? I don't want to look at any-old flashing (or even static) photos as I scroll every page - and once for any signature is enough imo.

Next thing y'know there'll be advertisers using NSC to say "drink Pepsi" or "Horowitz and Stickleman Estate Agents"


That image is as good as it gets, so can't it be reduced and made into an avatar then?

Alternative change your settings to get rid of them.
