I am absolutely shocked at how woeful England played. Surely the lack of spine, lack of motivation stems from the management. McClaren must walk .... but who should take over? And who do you think will take over?

I want Mourinho - he has tactics, glamour and excitment

I think O'Neill might be given the job though

Personally I favour Arsenal old boy Gus Caesar. Not sure he's got the coaching badge, but he'd surely be an improvement on the current incumbent.

Much as I'd love to see him take it, can't see Mourinho going for it as he seems to enjoy the day to day management of players, which he wouldn't get as an international manager.

Not Mourinho. Please, God, no.

I've said it on this board before, and I'll say it again. We don't need some "top international manager"-type mercenary. The FA will insist upon it, because they have this ridiculous notion that "the England job is the biggest job in World football". The Dutch and the Germans have in recent years taken on inexperienced managers with good footballing brains (proven as players) and a passion about the national team.

We need someone who can inpire, we need someone who will pick a side playing 442 in their usual positions, and we need someone who will say "go out and win it for the fans, because you're one too". None of this faffing around with 451 (at home, when we need a win, ffs), none of this 'psychology is nine-tenths of the game' bullshit, none of this positive thinking ('there are many positives to take from this game', despite losing to some random European also-rans), and none of this 'the players have nothing to prove - they've shown with their clubs they can play a the highest level'.

Lippo or Mourinho are more likely to manage Ebsfleet than England. Can you seem them wasting two and a half years of their careers before playing in the finals of a competetion. Given that, the way the press pretty much destroy their lives and ridiculous expectation from some of our fans I cant see any proper international class manager touching the England job with a 50 foot barge pole.
